I definitely did see him ride a horse at Fakenham racecourse when I was too young to appreciate it. I started visiting this board trying to whip myself up into a frenzy waiting for the BB&M deluxe set (and to see if maybe I could get a copy, digital that is, of that single). I started watching the Monkees in around 1980 and then bought a ten track music for pleasure cassette, I think my next purchase was the first album from a charity shop when I was at sixth form, I can remember sitting in the common room looking at the notes on the back and thinking "they do play their own instruments after all".
I once played Naked Permission at a fan convention, that was quite an achievement.

Hello everybody.

Hello
My name is Eva, I'm 32 years old, married with a child, a boy named Bart and he is 5 years old.
I live in the Netherlands and have a part-time job in a drugstore.
When we got cable tv as a child I saw the Monkees for the first time and I was hooked as a 8year old. I learned speaking english because of the show ( who
wrote that stuff!!), and Davy Jones became my first love, hihihi.
As I grow older I forgot all about them, as my music interest chanched, but a few months ago I re descoverd the monkees all over again. The funny thing is,
those first feelings of joy and fun and excitemend never left me because I feel it all again.
I had some catching up to do about the monkees, so I surfed the net for every detail about them, and what they've been up to. Bought some books on the net
and updated my Ipod with my favorite monkeesongs.
When I landed on the Monkeeland board, I was happely surprised about all the info and all these people who felt...

I'm new here. My name is Sue and I am a happily married freelance writer living in New York City. I wasn't born until 1970 but I fell in love with
the Monkees through the reruns on Saturdays and after school. I rediscovered them in 1986 when I was 16. My best friend and I were all set to go see them when
their tour came to my town (I was born and raised in Massachusetts) but our plans fell through at the last minute after she got grounded. :-( Over the past
few years my Monkee love dimmed some, not because I stopped loving them but because life just got in the way...I went through some tough times, then some good
ones (got married, started my own business) but then I found YouTube and rekindled things. I bought the Season 1 DVD set from Amazon and once I finished
watching them all I just had to have Season 2, which for some reason is about as easy to find (at least here in the U.S.) as a Monkees reunion, leading me to
pay $137 for it on Ebay. Yes...

Wow, it's been so long, I don't even know what to put. A quick synopsis on my life...I'm married, mama to one cat, a former teacher and at this
point, I'm still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. I'm from Alabama with the accent to match. I love to read, to write, I talk a
lot, especially when I get excited. I discovered the Monkees back in the summer of '89 when I was 15 and my parents were having a hard time. The old
re-runs and music gave me some much-needed happiness and escape. And so a life-long love-affair was born.

Happy Anniversary!! Hello, I'm Donna, Monkee/Nez fan, c.1975. A little more than a month ago I started searching to see if anyone had heard anything
other than the official line about a few things... maybe remastered HEAD w/commentary, Nez' 2nd book... ABC-TV episode #781 on DVD w/concert... and so I
found my way to this place after scanning some other fan sites. I've read alot here this past month, I commend all the really great informative, current
event and nostalgic posts which brought back a whole heaping lot of things I hadn't thought about in years. I'm impressed with the creativeness here
too, very talented. It's been wonderful reading, in the context of continuing forward, so I decided to ask for commenting privilege to share the love with
you fine folks.
Thanks very much for that and thank you for your dedication and being here for me to find!
