It may have stopped snowing, but we have about 40mph winds so it all has drifted. Temp is 6degrees, high predict to be 9degrees. Brrr! School was closed yesterday and today. And I am staying inside. Tommy can go outside and get the newspaper and the mail. (If they get delivered, that is.) I'm going to watch soaps and make fudge.

Winter came on far too fast! We had a week of -1, -2 temperatures... now we're at -20 Celcius! (about -4 F). I shouldn't complain, usually we have this weather in November; we got a pretty mild autumn this year.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! Sally's blizzard has now overrun Wisconsin. The forecasters are predicting up to a foot of snow before tomorrow morning, and schools have already cancelled for tomorrow. I wish we could do the same thing at work. I'll be getting up early to dig myself out of my front door in the morning.

I (barely) got to the post office to finish the last of my holiday mailing before the bad snow started. Now it's off my head and it's up to the...

I dunno if I told this or not before, but I think your new glasses look really good on you.

We've had rain all day and it's still raining along with being in the 40's. No fun. It's supposed to dip into the the 20's during the evening I think on Thursday night going into Friday morning. I'm not looking forward to that. Brrrr!!!!

It's bitterly cold (near zero) here for the 2nd day in a row. We are having snow (it has snowed on & off since Saturday night), and this is our second cold spell in the last ten days. We are not getting the blizzard conditions as those to the east of the us, but it's definitely not fun. I can't wait to get home. It is supposed to improve tomorrow, thank goodness.

It isn't even officially winter, and we have already had our driveway shoveled at least as many times...

It rained almost all day yesterday which was a good thing since California could definitely use the rain. I am looking forward to going to Tennessee with my fiance for two weeks in February. I just hope I have some kind of decent income (other than the unemployment checks) by the time we go (we're using money I had saved up from when I had a job and whatever I have in my monthly budget which will be a combination of some of the unemployment money and some business money). At least...

We are smack dab in the middle of a blizzard right now, our first of this winter. Maybe I should say the beginning of a blizzard. There is a LOT of snow, and no school, but the high winds are coming later on today and tonight. Needless to say, I am staying in where it is nice and warm and I can just look out at it.

We had our first real snowfall yesterday, too. Several car accidents, too, which is surprising since in Central New York you'd think people would be used to this (and by this I'm referring to the nuts who are tailgating in slippery conditions!). As much as I hate snow and winter, it was kinda pretty, and I ALMOST felt that Christmas spirit come creeping in. Each year I'm finding it harder and harder to get into the spirit. Nearly had it this time though.

Well, just after I thought I'd have an easier week, the other kid woke up with a headache and stomachache (although I think it may have been nerves because of an oral book report due today since she's made an awfully fast recovery), and I got in my van this morning to discover a big hole in one of the backseats. I think a mouse must have gotten in there-gross! It actually snowed here this morning so it was awfully cold and I think the poor little thing was trying to get warm....

I don't blame you a bit, Nora. This week has been crazy busy for me, too. But I have all my decorating done, after an all day excursion to the mall on Thursday about 90% of my shopping is done (and the other 10% is just a matter of taking the time to pick up what I need), and after I get the last of my online friends' gifts mailed on Wednesday, all of my mailing will be done, too. That's a big chunk of work.

Then last night was my nephew Corey's 3rd birthday party....

Okay, so I played hookey from church this morning. :shhh But I am listening to Christmas music, does that count?

I hate to miss services especially during Advent, but after a crazy week of vet, appointments, carpet cleaning, a semi-sick kid, and I constant barrage of "Mom!!!!", let alone trying to get all the decorations up, I just needed a break.

Hope all is well, everyone. I have been away a while, but hope to return to the fold here a bit more often. I have had better years, but given everything going on, I think my family is doing OK overall. I didn't have a well functioning PC at home for a while, so that is part of the reason I was gone, but also just a lot of things going on. Take care.

Baking is well underway over here! Phew! My friend and I are baking up a storm for a bake/craft sale on Saturday, and making some extra to have on hand for Christmas visitors. Tonight we made raspberry squares, pineapple log (which she took home to finish since I forgot to buy marshmallows!), fudge, and I made my reverse chocolate chip cookie dough, and will bake the cookies tomorrow. The red and green chocolate I used is already making it look super festive! I can't wait to bake them....
