OMG Duc, you said it so well. While it's fun to check out what Micky's doing, we should also be concentrating on what *we* are doing... There should be a balance and I appreciate you endorsing it.

Kim, the 'lulls' in between is made for the time when we can walk away from the computer and do something productive with our lives, instead of fawning over someone else's.

Keep this thread in mind and take advice of all the nice posts above because if this topic of Micky not being in the news gets brought up again, I'm deleting it.

Keep checking the updated tour dates and sightings threads in this very section. Micky always seems to be doing something, showing up somewhere, or planning his next foray into his continuing (huzzah!) career in the grand biz known as show!

Yeah, I know all that. But it's just so fun and exciting when new stuff pops up. And it's kind of a downer during the lulls in between.

Also, if you think about it, all these guys are in their mid-to-late 60s, about the time many people (my father included) are thinking seriously about retiring. Maybe he's just enjoying being at home, spending time with his kids and in his garden, and playing golf. It looks like he's got quite a few shows coming up this summer so perhaps he's just gearing up for them.

Edit: I meant early-to-mid 60s! Oops!

Also, imagine if we didn't have the Internet. We wouldn't see much about any of the Monkees these days without it. Guest appearances on this or that would be missed. I consider myself lucky to know or hear as much as we do!

But we've had this exact same discussion before, haven't we? Just because he's not "in the spotlight", as you say, doesn't mean he's not busy with lots of different things. Wouldn't it be better to see him do something well thought out and artistically fulfilling, for instance like preparing for a new Broadway role behind the scenes, (not that I have any knowledge that he is--it's just a for instance), than have him do quickie cameo appearances on...

I wonder what Micky's up to since he hasn't really been in the spotlight much lately. I miss seeing stuff posted on the net about him from fans and whatnot. I'm kind of going through Micky withdraw.
