I've worked in daycare, worked at KFC, worked in a potpourri packing factory, babysat and worked in a kennel. Yes, my current job as a data entry clerk is by far the best work environment job I've had and I love the people I work with. Being a Mom is the best job though.

I agree. My boyfriend seems to think that in order to be happy, he has to make a lot of money. I disagree, though, saying that money is the least of it. Sure, money helps pay the bills and whatnot, but overall, if you're not happy at a job, the money is just not worth it. Why put yourself through the misery and the stress for a few extra dollars?

I've always said that if you don't like the job you have,it's time to move on. The undo stress it would cause would really be bad for a persons health.

You're absolutely right, Tom. All of my jobs have been highly rewarding with great people and wonderful enviornments, but I earned very little in all of them. I was actually the lowest paid pastor in our conference, actually earning quite a bit less than minimum wage had I been being paid per hour.

I'm noticing something in common with everyone here - all of the favorite jobs were favorites mainly because of the environment and the people you worked with, as opposed to the money. As it should be IMO.

I think the reason alot of video rental stores are losing business might be because "On Demand" has become available and more affordable. Instead of going to the store and renting a DVD for $2.99,you can rent it from "On Demand" for 24 hours for $2.99.

Years ago, our Blockbuster was so crowded on a Friday & Saturday night you could barely find a parking space. Now it has only a few cars. We are expecting it to close any time now just like all the other little video stores that were here and a Hollywood Video that was here less than a year.

I think services like Netflix are putting all the video stores out of business. I used to make it a point to always go to my local, family-run video store instead of Blockbusters to rent videos, but it went out of business anyway, and now even Blockbusters has a much more limited selection than it used to. I sometimes reserve films I want to see from the public library, but the problem is that I often don't have a chance to watch them before they're due back.

When "Hollywood Video" moved into this area in about 1998,it killed 99% of the other video stores.

Kinda late, but I wanted to jump on this topic.....................

Anyways, I have two favorite jobs that I absolutely loved. The first one being a video clerk at West Coast Video. What a fun part time job and the people there were alot of fun to hang out with.

My second most favorite job was being a desk clerk at Motel 6. The managers treated me and my son just like we were their adopted daughter and grandson. I truly enjoyed working there....stayed with the company for...

There are so many great design programs out there for the computer. Photoshop is just one of many. Stop in at a computer store,Marnie,and inquire about what's available.

Sadly, I never learned Photoshop too well, maybe I can when I get time and focus. Stuff like design would come naturally for me.

Unfortunately I've never had a favorite job due to one reason or the other, but that might change very soon.

This past week I received calls from two recruiters interested in my portfolio, and two offers via a mutual friend for creating/redesigning websites. Even more exciting is that I met with the second recruiter yesterday afternoon, and after a 3 1/2 hour meeting/interview/assessment she emailed me the details of three current openings for contract-to-perm graphic design...

My current job isn't too bad. I work part time at Kohl's department store. It IS my favorite job to date, but I'm not going to lie, customer service just isn't me. Maybe I'm just mean and grumpy, but I just don't care anymore about making customers excited. The majority of the customers are sweethearts, but many of them are just too nasty and I wanna beat them with something. The company motto is "Expect Great Things," but the associates don't.

My favorite place of employment was Pepperidge Farms. I worked in the Billing Dept. back in the late 70's early 80's. They really treated their employees like gold. We were owned by Cambell's Soup Co. and we had a company store where we could buy Pepperidge Farm products as well as Campbell and Swanson frozen dinners dirt cheap!

The most rewarding(and HARDEST) job I have had is the one I have now. I work in a nursing home on the long term care floor with people who need...
