The original Bozo, Bob Bell died in 1997. The one who uttered the famous words after ringmaster Ned would say, "Who's your favorite clown". And then the kids would all shout, "Bozo" and Bozo in turn would say,"Hey, that's me"!

That was the Grand Prize Game and they used ping pong balls. That too, my favorite part of the show!

It is very sad indeed. I used to watch the Bozo Show all the time on WGN, especially when I got out of morning kindergarten classes. I always loved the one game where they throw the golf balls into the buckets and win prizes. Sooooooooooo many celebs have passed away this year. It is SCARY.

So this is the man who created the character of Bozo?
I watched Bozo's Circus regularly in my early gradeschool years, on WGN channel 9. Bob Bell (also deceased) played Bozo in my area. It came on at 12 noon - I lived 2 blocks from my school and was one of those who often went home for lunch. My Mom had a sandwich, potato chips, and milk waiting for me when I got home. Then she let me watch Bozo for the first half hour. (Lunch hour was 11:45 till 12:45.) It was quite a popular show,...

Bozo was a permanent fixture in my life growing up. And even as a grown up, I still continued to watch the show with my child.

Rest in peace Larry and thank you for the wonderful childhood memories!

Gosh, I remember seeing Bozo on WGN on cable every now and again when I was a kid. Sad loss, indeed.

I remember watching this show along with the Cartoon Bozo. It ranked up there with Beany & Cecil.
