A dream come true! Davy was playing at the Miller Lite Pizza Challenge on this day. I got to see him for $6. Of course his band played a lot of the hits. There was more than music-the Archie and Edith sketch by the way. Two things really stuck out for me. First, they played three songs from "Oliver!". I do community theatre in Port Clinton, OH and my first show was "Oliver!". Second, President Reagan died around that time and they showed their respect by singing "The Star Spangled Banner". I thought that was so cool. I waited backstage, as it were, for about 45 minutes in the hopes Davy would come out. He did and my heart started beating "a mile a minute". When I had my turn, I told him I was turning 31 in six days and that I'd been a Monkees fan for 18 years. He looked at me and with that beautiful voice said "You're 31?", as if he didn't believe me. I also told him about my "Oliver!" experience. But I never told him my name (isn't that dumb?). He was kind enough to take a pic with me; he took it himself and the camera rewound in his hand. Then he gave me a hug. I know he's old enough to be my father, but he really made a dream come true. Thanks forever, Davy!
