A number of boards I frequent have gone Yuku in the last couple weeks, or have the "This board will convert this week" message up top. So how long until this place is forced to change?

As far as I know we've not received any notification that we must "move". If we have to, then of course there's not much we can do about it, but we have no plans to go to yuku under our own volition. We tend to like the way things are set up as-is, and haven't heard enough in positive support of yuku to make any move in that regard at this time (unless we have to).

Thank heavens because from what I have seen, the color schemes are awful. They are too dark and not easy on the eyes. Some of us are old and have bad eyes. We need light colors!
The one board that have a chatroom is so dark and gloomy colorwise. Very hard to read, yada, yada. I do not want to move to Yuku. All 681 of us here can revolt and tell them NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Maybe even Micky, Davy, Peter, and Mike will come on here and help us in our revolt! Board designs usually depend on the owners of the board, actually- not necessarily whether it's ez or Yuku. I post at a Dizzy Reed message board which just recently got moved to Yuku, and they actually did a fantastic job making it look almost exactly as it had on ezboard- nice tan and sand colours with dark text.

I have trouble staying logged into Yuku. Once I got logged into an Eboard account I only used once or twice, no idea how it was managed. I would struggle if we transferred over.

Yes, Ray! I agree with you completely. For 681 members registered, it doesn't seem like that many people here speak except for the regulars and some of the new people.
Such a shame because we could all revolt against them and demand we stay with EZ Board. I do not want to move to Yuku.

I'm confused about what YUKU is. Is it supposed to be a "new and improved" version of EZ-Board, or is it a different company that EZ-Board is encouraging everyone to move to because it (EZ-Board) is having problems and may have to close? From what most people here have been saying, I get the impression that it's supposed to be "new and improved" but is actually more difficult to use. Sort of like the new Yahoo email format. I tried it out for a while but didn't like it and was able to switch back to the old format. At least Yahoo gave me a choice, but it sounds as if once you make the switch to YUKU, you're stuck with it, and it also sounds as if some people are afraid we will eventually be forced to make that switch.

From what I've been hearing, my guess is that if we had a choice between moving to this Yuku board or changing boards completely, most of us would probably choose going to another message board.

I've had a little while to do a little google search, and here's a wikipedia entry that should answer most of your questions about yuku:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yuku The short answer to LMBT's question is that yuku is basically an upgrade/new version of EZ Boards. It's not a different message board community. It's kind of like moving into (supposedly) a better condo in the same housing development, if you catch my drift. The wikipedia page states that the intent is to at some point migrate everybody over to yuku, so at some point or another I suppose the change is inevitable. Either that or figure something else out. I guess that'll be something we'll need to address when that bridge starts a-flamin'. Shane

  It's a good thing I asked about this in other forum. Hopefully they will have better colors than what other Yuku sites have had.... too dark, especially for people with bad eyes. I think all 683 of us now need to rebel and request to stay with EZ board. I know I read that the boards have that option. We should revolt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I am not a fan of Yuku. Yes,it's way too dark at times. But it doesn't look like they are giving anyone a real choice as to whether a site wants to move or not.

No, they aren't. The change is gonna happen sooner or later. Staying with ezboard is not a choice. It's just my opinion, but if it needs to happen then I would just as soon let it so we can deal with what we need to deal with and get things flowing as close to "normal" as quickly as we can. The longer we put it off, the more everyone is gonna brood over it, including myself.
