Granted, yes we all know I get irritated at things easily and this is one issue I feel is very important. I will keep you all updated on their response to me. Yuku is not secure for log-ins. Phishing is taking place Hello there. I am part of the now Yuku switched over from EZ Board group called Monkeeland. Below is our link to our site. http://www.monkeeland.yuku.com/ I want you to be made aware that phishing has been taking place on Yuku as of recently, especially when I try to log into my own profile. From my own standpoint, I feel that Yuku should be a 'secure' server since we do pay for community memberships for Yuku. Granted I am not a moderator nor admin for Monkeeland, however, I have posted to the forum that I would be contacting you regarding this safety issue, especially for newer members who may not be aware of phishing. The pages are completely different colors. I am also having to re-login several times even after I make one post. This is not normal to me. Again, the issue of 'secure' server would be nice. If someone could please get back to me as soon as possible, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you and have a safe and blessed day. And unless you are good with the computer you might never know. Say for instance my profile page is all green, well a 'phishing' page has an all white background with HUGE fonts that are blue. At least that's how it's been showing up on my computer. I am very unhappy with Yuku's reply to me as well. It is very long and complicated and that's why I haven't posted the 'direct' reply. They are mainly helping me with my reasoning for having to log in 5 - 6 times for each screen I have to go to. It's terrible. They 'claim' Yuku is on a secure server, but it's not! I am not blind and I can read that it clearly says http at the top of my screen and not https. So unfortunately for any members that do not know the computer very well and they 'click' on their password on a phishing page, the phoney page has your log-in, password, and basically your entire account. It's not a good situation and no one seems to want to help me. But whatever, I will deal with it as best that I can. I know to never click on a website that looks funky. Yahoo is a major phishing website. Major! Several of the groups have been phished. Now Yuku But that is what phishing means.

I haven't experienced anything like that on Yuku, but I have had several incidents when I was unable to view the board or when I could see the main board but couldn't open up individual posts or forums for a while. In those cases I either got a maintenance message or I just got an error message from my computer. Is it possible that the phishing problem is related to either your computer or your internet access? I am not particularly computer literate when it comes to the technical aspects, so I don't really know. I hope you're able to get it resoved soon though.

Posts: 241 (05/20/08 6:34 PM) Globetrotter Cravin' Kasem Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Hi Cheri, I am pretty familiar with phishing: most the time phishing happens when you get email or an IM and they entice you to go to a link (fake website pretending to be something legitimate) and you divulge your account information for Pay, eBay, personal info or bank info. The phishers then go and clean out your accounts and/or install viruses on your computer. Sad, but this happens all the time. There is not much incentive for a phisher to spoof a yuku page unless they can steal money or spam other people, so I think chances of them spoofing yuku are slim. From my view, it sounds like to me your PC may be having issues connecting to Yuku. I have to log back in myself a few times a week. The reason for that is your IP address changes with your ISP many times when you log off and then back on for another internet session, or sometimes it can change when you are online and you get kicked out. So Yuku "sees" you as a new user with a different IP address, that's one reason you have to log back in. You might have problems with storing cookies on your computer (these allow you to have sessions at various websites, either when you log in or not). Sometimes Yuku is down for maintenance, I have seen that a few times in the last week or so. A virus could be causing this for you. I have heard of webpages looking kinda wonky if someone has a virus on their computer. It has been a while since I have seen this, but it can happen. Can you make screenshots while this is going on? - and show those to Yuku, that might help them as well. Easiest way press --> Windows key (bottom left) and then the -->Print Screen button AT THE SAME TIME, then go to your Paint program and press Control-C and save the captured page as a some name and then save as a JPEG If you want to PM me this, maybe I can give you more insight. Run some virus scans with your Anti Virus software and see if that helps. You might have a virus. Do these odd things happen anywhere else or just with Yuku? Last Edited By: marnweb 05/20/08 6:38 PM. It looked suspicious so I asked them if it was official and they said it wasn't and to delete it. I think they asked me to send a copy to them first. I could go to that link, http://writer2be2007.u.yuku.com/dashboard/communities/sub/my/rt/1 ,Cheri and see the same thing in my browser, you have 2 links to Yuku boards: Monkeeland and Aaron's TV one. I don't see the Holy Ground one. I never used the dashboard feature. At least you use Firefox, that is definitely a somewhat safer browser than Internet Explorer, however, even on dial up, one can get viruses. I am just not sure what you see as wrong. Sorry, it is not of more help, maybe some else might know more. Can you describe more?
