This was a wake for monkee touring musician jerry renino. I was not guaranteed who would be there, i was pleasantly valley sunday surprised to see micky and peter there. Micky was really courteous to me and appreciated me being there. we had a drink to jerry in his honor that was cool. i have met him before and knew how approachable he really is and he is. However when i saw peter, it was a different story! i said to him the same thing i said to micky and peter just gave me a dismissive retork! ahem pun intended. he just yelled PLEASE and walked away, i guess since he went away( yes another pun) i left feeling down goin down even. i wasnt in his face or anything i just felt shocked by his rudeness. Someone from the club told me dont take it to heart, he is just going through a hard time but if it was not for people like me, peter would not have a career!! Sure the timing could have been off but it was peter's own ad in the variety that tipped me off to this event. i guess in the end i saw davy jones at bb kings on 3/8 ( micky's birthday and told micky no love was given to him that night since it is his birthday lol) and saw micky and peter last night i felt in the span of 3 days i saw 3 of the 4 monkees not bad!!! in closing if i upset peter fans please dont take this as a reflection of his personality, maybe he thought i was the press but i wasnt just someone to pay respects to a friend and well if 2 monkees were at a club i attended then even better!!! any comments please feel free to email me at wizardglick77@aol.com i hope it is ok to plug my personal email address here, if it isnt im sorry i did not know. tork to you soon Greg

I've never met him but have always read that he can be very moody. If he's going through a hard time right now, I hope everything's okay with him. Cyndi M

Just so you know, I met Peter in between his sets of 2 evening concerts a few years ago: he was very nice and polite to everyone that I had seen. He signed autographs for me and others and made some pleasant small chat. I could have talked to him longer, but I didn't want to bug him that much, I gave him his space. Posting email addresses is fine. Please post more often if you have the inclination sometime. Seeing 3 out of 4 Monkees in a few days ain't bad considering they are all doing their own thing, I just wish you had better news to report.

He may be taking this hard still, I didn't know Mr. Renio (I know I spelled it wrong) but from what I heard and seen he must have been a nice guy all around. Something like that is hard to take for quiet a while. I still take my grandma's death very hard and she passed away in 1993. So what was the event like? You called it a "wake," but I had thought that it was designed to be more of a celebration of Jerry's life than a mourning over his death. Of course there would have to be some sad moments too, but I didn't think that mourning and sadness were meant to be the theme of the evening. I had been under the impression that it was going to include "jam session" performances in tribute to Jerry by all the musicians in attendance. Did Micky and Peter do any numbers together? Did all the musicians perform together or did they mix and match in different groups at different times? Do you remember any of the songs they did? Were there a lot of fans in attendance or was it mostly people who had known Jerry personally? Sorry if this sounds like the 3rd degree . I'm just really curious about what it was like. I had considered going but thought that perhaps I didn't belong there since I didn't really know Jerry, and I was way too exhausted from a very busy and exciting weekend to go out that night anyway. I hope that it was well attended and am glad that they put together something like this to honor Jerry's memory.
