My little guy, Jacob, woke up this afternoon with 104 fever. He'd been fine all day. This seems to be an almost monthly occurance and it really has me
worried. My husband has him at urgent care now. We tried to give him tylenol but he adamantly refused to take it. Please pray for him, and for strength for
me. Thank you!

The latest news is that he's had a breathing treatment and is being tested for strep throat. He's never had a breathing treatment before so I'm
not really sure what that signifies. He also got a tylenol suppository to reduce the fever. I am glad they're taking good care of him and running these
tests.

Thanks again, everyone. The dr. gave him two shots (one in each leg) of antibiotics for an ear infection. Jacob came home a little over an hour ago, had
something to eat, and watched "Diego." He was feeling good enough to answer the questions that "Diego" asks the kids watching the show, so
at least he was more alert and not so lethargic. We have to follow up with our family dr. tomorrow. I'm seeing tubes in his future.
 He went to bed a little bit ago but now we'll see
if I can calm down in order to get to bed at a decent time.

That's usually where babies/toddlers are given their shots-in the thighs. If he wasn't such a stinker about taking his antibiotics orally, he
wouldn't have had to have them. My husband thinks he's learned a lesson but with toddlers you can never be sure.

Awww.... poor little guy!
 I hope Jacob will feel all better real soon and that his mommy will be able to get some rest too! Some kids just have a tendency
to run high fevers whenever they get sick while others rarely do. It sure is scary for their parents when they do, though! So are those antibiotic injections
supposed to take care of the problem or will he need repeated doses? Whenever my kids have had either ear infections or strep throat, they have had to remain
on oral antibiotic treatment for 10 days. I sure hope Jacob won't need daily injections for that long!

I just got back from taking Jacob in for his follow up appt. While in the waiting room he talked animatedly with everyone, climbed on the furniture and was
singing "Mary, Mary." When kids recover that fast it's hard to tell the dr. just how sick he really was! The dr. told me that some kids just
get these viruses/infections on a regular basis for 6 months-1 year, and that it's almost as frustrating to the dr. as it is to the parents. He does want
to check his white blood cell count, just to be on the safe side. Thanks again for your concern, everyone! I love my Monkeeland family!
