A monkey visited Atlantic Southern Bank in Macon this afternoon.
And it wasn't just an ordinary monkey, it was a singing monkey!

Davy Jones of the sixties pop/rock group "The Monkees" greeted fans and signed autographs. Bank President Mark Stevens' wife Deborah was on hand to take photos. Jones says Atlantic Southern is a vital part of our community.


"This is a community bank. It's just around the corner and it's a place
you can go where everybody knows your name. It's the kind of thing that I try to advise my own children to do. It's about savings accounts. It's about college funds, things that parents and grandparents like myself are interested in developing and there's no better place to do that than at a community bank. That's what Atlantic Southern is a community bank."

Davy starred in "The Monkees'" television show during the late sixties.
He also appeared on The Brady Bunch series, and movie. Jones is staying busy these days as lead singer of The Davy Jones Band.
