Smashmouth had some big success with their cover of "I'm A Believer" a few years back, and that's just one of several Monkees covers that have done well commercially. If you were to have a Monkees song recorded by somebody, what would it be? And do you have any thoughts as to who would do a good job covering it? Shane Keep an eye out for Public Enemies!

"You Just May Be the One" would be a great showcase, I think.

I actually did a cover a few months ago of Nine Times Blue and would love to hear what you guys (other Monkees fans) think about it. You can hear/download it at myspace.com/jonathanpretus. I'm listening to your "Nine Times Blue" cover right now, and I like it a lot! Interesting background instrumentation too. What is the other instrument (sounds like a woodwinds instrument?) besides guitar. I like that solo. Very different but quite appropriate, IMO. BD, I don't know if you can trust the Yuku profile listing for someone's location. When I look at jpretu1's Yuku profile it lists him as living in my own hometown (although my own profile doesn't even give that much info)! This has happened to me before with other people who I know don't really live where I do, and I'm afraid it's just another one of those weird Yuku glitches. Jonathan's myspace page has a different U.S. city listed. I always kinda wanted the song to have a little solo, so I threw one in. Creative license, but oh well! The other song on my page are songs I've done with different bands during my career. Some I sing on and play guitar, some I play drums on and do backing vocals. I currently play in a band called Cowboy Mouth. We are a pretty consistent touring band, and the band has had a few hits in it's career. I just joined last year, and we're putting out a new album in September. Check out our page and if we're coming near ya'll, come out to the show and say hi. It's alot of fun. I actually live in New Orleans, will have to go and change the profile so it's correct. You guys just played in my hometown on the 3rd at Waterfest in Oshkosh, WI. I live like a block away from the ampitheater.
