Well, here are a couple of them! *Quote:* We all saw another version of Nez recently up until 2001 which was a Virtual Nez on the Web.. Some of us actually got to meet him and chat with him. That was exciting and loads of fun! It was probably the closest anyone fan has been to Nez since 1969. Well we think it was him anyway. I know (well, I'm pretty sure, anyway!) that most of what you wrote in that post was fantasy, but did he actually have some kind of communication with the public through his website at one time? Did he have some kind of live video link set up so that he seemed to be talking to people, or was it more like he answered questions via message board? Is it just that it sort of sounds like it comes from outer space, or do you think (seriously) that Nez is telling a similar kind of story through his music on Rays?

Nez had a virtual 3D Chat world called Videoranch 3D and many of the Members here at Monkeeland used to be citizens. It was Part of the Activeworlds Universe. Basically you downloaed the software and registered a profile and you could wear a cool 3d character that you could run around Nez's world and chat with each other and visit Nez themed areas like the Garden, The Island, The Waterfall, the Formosa Diner the Rio Drive in and the MP3 Forest and Connection Corral where you could watch little videos on Moo TVs. Lucy usually was one of the Flamingos at the Garden pool standing on her Patio Table umbrella. Delightfully quirky place and yes, Nez himshelf would show up periodically and exchange a few words with us. I cannot say he ever held a lengthy conversation with any of us.. He was usually in and out very quick like. I got a chance to talk with him about a couple of the paintings he had "hanging in the air" from the Gihon Foundation, Again, not in great length. It seemed sometimes when he did come in that he was "mobbed" with tons of questions so he would not stay very long. Some of us have met and talked to Jason and Christian, and Victoria also. It was a project of Victoria's I believe. We also had two "Ranch Cams" where we would see constant Pics of the Nez Hacienda in New Mexico and at the Monterey Ca office and everyone used to hang there to catch the latest glimpse of Nez. It was moderated by Neffie, Slim and the other "Ranch Hands" and they used to give us the latest on Nez happenings or just hung out with us in general. *Quote:* I haven't heard Rays yet. I delve in the whimsical notions, what ifs, Science, analysis, period. That comes out in my writings at times and also in my music. Nez has often left jet contrail signals of him being a Space Cowboy long before RAYS throughout his career and his thirst for deeper thought and knowlege and science in his projects and activities outside of music. If you get some time go to the Edge www.edge.org/ and do a search on Michael Nesmith. You can see that he is really into the intellectual as well as philosophical and I believe that has migrated into his music over the years. The Prison and the Garden are fine examples as is his first novel. I've read yesterday that some say RAYs is autobiographical. I don't know about that analysis but I do know that I like it. It is different and thats not a bad thing. More than just a former Monkee. Musician, artist, intellectual, author, businessman..........., So enjoy the level of Nezziness you seek and get Nezzed often. Instead of a trilogy we have sixology, the first 6 albums flow together all so well. Post more details as you get a chance. I agree with what you have said.

Posts: 0 (03/06/06 7:46 AM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Someone here has screenshots of VR3D and I believe Donna Bailey aka Nez Prez used to have an "Intereview" that someone named "Fried Pies" did with some of the members at Videoranch 3D complete with screen shots of some of the areas at the Ranch at her Web Site "Nezfriends"www.nezfriends.com/ Donna is the President of the Official Michael Nesmith Fan Club in case you didnt already know. Most of us would love top see Nez bring something like VR3D back again in some form. Maybe he will if he gets the inspiration to do so. Anyway Donna's site is very informative as to past and present goings on with Nez with lots of great pics and Concert reviews and history. Check her out! He used to change the positions periodically so we would see the dogs, Lily & Roy or the mountains or different angles of the ranch property, or the Cowboy boot in the window or the tree with his cowboy hats on it or an occasional UFO in the sky and occasionally Nez himself. The last pics were at the Monterey office after Nez moved to Carmel Valley to be closer to the office. And Yes, we had members that would come in and stay parked at the Cam Screens for hours, even days hopin fer a glimpse of PapaNez. *Quote:* Do you write and play music? I've recently been looking at a book of classic literature that I am toying with the idea of turning it into a Rock Opera, scripting it out and writing the music for it. But, alas currently, I recenty have been way too busy at my job and other home life things as well as working on my Masters Degree to work on any of that stuff right now. I am hoping to try and and get some rough tracks recorded over the next few months. It will probably take me 10 years to get one album done at the rate I'm going tho.
