Hurry Back Jen!!
PS1 WORDS OF WISDOM
Everyone seems normal until you get to know them You can't have everything. Where would you put it? I don't get even, I get odder. Stupidity got us into this mess - why can't it get us out? If it ain't broke, fix it till it is. My Reality Check bounced Experience is a wonderful thing. It enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again. Nothing is fool-proof to a sufficiently talented fool |

Thanks for delivering the message, Shannon. I'd been wondering why we hadn't seen Jen around for a few days.

I missed you all too!
I miss having someone here my own age. I feel like the kid of Monkeeland. Personally, I think it's neat that I am now the same age Mr. David Jones was when he first started Monkee-ing around. Hey, you've got less than a year to go! Unfortunately, not as many around our age post
here (I think Myspace is a bit more popular with the younger kids nowadays), so it's really awesome that you do! |

Boy, am I feeling like the Geritol Generation right about now. Just teasing, of course! I think it's terrific to see the legacy the Monkees have left in that they have young fans even 40 years after the big splash. They seem to ever appeal to the young, and of course, those who wish to remain young-at-heart. (Just as long as you young whippersnappers understand that we fogeys were here first. )

I'll be 18 in July and I've loved the Monkees, especially Davy, since I was maybe 5 or 6. None of the other kids in my school knew who the Monkees
were, but the teachers did,of course. I wore a neat Davy t-shirt to school one day and one of my girlfriends asked me,"Hey,he's cute! Is he someone
new? What's he sing?" **Sigh**
Now they're running the Monkees show on On-Demand and now the kids are like,"Oh yeah,The Monkees. They're pretty cool." Don't worry,Molly. There's plenty of room in here.

I've got another similar t-shirt anectdote....not near as funny as "is that your son?" but still....this was from
someone who I know is old enough to know who David is...but still she stopped her young daughter and asked her if the guy on my shirt wasn't that kid she
likes..(I'm guessing she was referring to Zac Effron...

The reactions of the people that don't know who Davy is is kinda funny. But Davy did,in a way, help me get out of classwork one day. When I was wearing my
Davy tee for the first time, the one teacher commented that she'd always loved Davy, then it turned into a class discussion about the Monkees!

Okay,I will admit that I had to look up Geritol on the computer to find out what in the world it is.

LMBT, That "Too Many Girls" (Fern & Davy) episode did a few take-offs on the Amateur Hour, the real show, which I remember actually watching on
Sundays at 5:30 pm back in the '60's. It was on Sunday afternoons.
The host of the real Amateur Hour was Ted Mack. On the Monkees episode, of course, he was Ted Hack. And the Sdrawkcab (Backwards) bit was taken from the ad that ran during the Amatuer Hour for a product called SERUTAN. The announcer would say, "SERUTAN spelled backwards is NATURES." I'll spare everyone what the product was for. Better if you look it up. But they did do ads for Geritol on the Amateur Hour also. |
