Has anyone picked these new imports up yet? - I think they have been discussed here a few months ago, but I couldn't find the thread. On another message
board, a fan mentioned that the Wichita Train Whistle remaster sounds really great compared to the previous LP versions. I want to buy them eventually, just
holding off for now.

I haven't picked them up yet, but there are a few things (non-Monkee related) that I'm holding out for the release on over at Amazon, and when I can
place an order for everything I want all together, I'll probably throw one or more of these in.

I was thinking about ordering them from VR. I, too was wondering if anyone else had picked them up yet.
I'm just curious why they were released and brought in as Imports rather than Nez putting them directly on the shelf over here? According to VR, Nez
did the remasters of WTWS/Timrider at Fantasy Studios in December 2006 - I wonder if Fantasy Studios in located in what used to be (or still may be) the Zaentz
Media Center in Berkley? Does anyone know?

Recalling to mind an old anecdote I heard re: John Lennon being asked by some interviewer about the books he wrote in the 1960s and whether he made conscious
use of onomatopeia?
John's response: "Automatic pier? I don't know what you're on about, son."

Nez, July 2007 Last time I recall using that word (onomatopoeia) was in college and I remember when I did, my professor of foreign languages looked at me and said, herself, I hadn't thought about that word since graduate school. ... I don't think I have used it much since then ... I have to admit there are times I have had to look up more than one word of some of the vocabulary words spouted by Nez in an interview or in lyrics. It is something about him I admire: his tendency to use big words. :D |

I ordered the Radio Engine /Infinite Rider combo from the VR and it JUST arrived (about 5 minutes ago!) I haven't popped it in yet to see how it sounds but
I'm super excited because I was able to get it personalized! I also ordered the Live at the Britt DVD and it is also personalized
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! It feels like Christmas! (Better actually!)
