I heard that word mentioned on another show yesterday. Those of you with young kids might know the Nickelodeon series called "Oswald", about a blue
octopus and his pals. One of the pals is Daisy, and she's well, a daisy.

I think Micky Ad-libbed that word on the Alias Micky Dolenz episode because if you watch Mike closely after Micky says the word, Mike looks at him surprised
and mouths the word and Micky shrugs his shoulders. LOL!
Now what I would really like to know is how in the world did Micky get the 'birdy' to fit completely in his mouth without puking from the badminton game in the episode where Peter likes Valerie with Ronnie Farnsworth (that weird guy in the cape)? "ICK" |

I don't think Micky invented the word "gosharooni" (or "gosharooney" as it can also be spelled), but he sure did popularize it for us
Monkees fans!
I'm amazed that Oswald is still on Nickelodeon, Nora. I used to watch that with my younger son (who's now 9 3/4) when he was little. I didn't think those shows stayed around that long. I have to say it always disturbed me to see this octopus walking around and living on dry land -- especially the episode when his house got flooded or something and it was supposed to be a problem. And don't even get me started on the dry, sandy beaches in Spongebob Squarepants and Spongebob failing at being a lifeguard because he can't swim or, worse yet, the "male cows" with udders in the Barnyard movie and TV series! But back to the topic....
Let's see if we can collectively come up with all of the actual usages of the word "gosharooney" on The Monkees TV show. Cheri mentioned a good one, from "Alias Micky Dolenz." Two others I can think of are: In "Too Many Girls": When Fern knocks on the door pretending to sell Girl Scout cookies, Micky says "Gosharooney, it's only a Girl Scout!" and In "Monkees Blow Their Minds" (I think?), when Mike asks Micky if he's learned enough about mind control to be ready to deal with Oraculo, Micky says, "Gosharooney yes!" Any others anyone can think of? |

"Male cows with udders"
Wow, I had no idea that "gosharooney" was used so much! I honestly thought Micky made up the word.
