Since it seems OK to display art and fiction not connected to the Monkees, I would like to share a project I've developed over the past couple months, spanning two of my design classes.

It's a series of stylized portraits of some of the Disciples, using royalty-free images and photos. I applied different color balances and effects to the images, then set up the gallery using Flash animation. Classmates and friends, including those who are not Christian, seemed to like them as well. The link to the gallery is here.

Also I want to stress that I am in no way trying to force Christianity or religion or any personal beliefs on anyone. I tried taking the approach that DaVinci and Michelangelo took with King David and The Last Supper - bringing to life a shared mythology with a current sensibility and using modern artistic tools.
