I also have my eye on a few Monkees items on ebay that I really would like to own. I don't think I will win, because I can't afford to bid very high. But, I'll give it a shot. Of course I will post if I win anything.

I ordered the double disc Definitive Monkees from Amazon a while back. They temporarily ran out of stock and sent messages saying I could cancel my order
because it was hard to get the item, but I still wanted it because I paid for it by check & they have the money in my account. So, I've been waiting
patiently. I see that they have it in stock now, so I'm hoping that it gets shipped to me soon.

Thanks!
Well, I won 3 magazines I wanted, was outbid on two others, and didn't bid on the charm bracelet I was watching (it went up too much). I cancelled my Amazon order for Definitive Monkees and bought if from CD Universe. They shipped it already! Yay. |

We've had trouble with Amazon in the past and we have found e-bay to be so much better than Amazon.

Hmmmm. I never had a problem with Amazon and received my items more quickly than Ebay. I guess it depends on the item.

Were you buying from Amazon or from third party sellers through Amazon (which works like ebay)? I've had a few problems with Amazon, the one that stands
out most is the time that they "lost" my check funds after they ran out of stock on something I ordered. It said $0 when it should have been almost
$70. I had to e-mail and then call 2 or 3 times to get it straightened out and get my money back. I finally got a nice lady on the phone who knew what she
was doing, but it took about an hour to get all the info. I didn't want this to happen again, so I put the money that was for the Definitive Monkees
toward the Season One set. I had to send a check in with the remaining balance. So as you can see I have not received the DVDs yet, and I hope they don't
run out before I get the one I ordered.
What I like most about Amazon is their lenient return policy. If an item is defective, missing parts, or anything of their fault, they send you a new one and you can return the defective one at no cost to you. That is unless it is a third party seller. With ebay, if a seller is at fault, they usually expect you to pay shipping costs back which I've never found to be fair. Last year, I bought a Cabbage Patch Kid from someone who clearly stated in the listing that the doll was clean and free of stains and marks. When I got it, it had several marks on it. The seller admitted she made a mistake, but she wanted me to pay to ship it back and didn't even want to refund my full original shipping cost. I figured it wasn't worth it and kept it to try to sell sometime. Sometimes people buy those dolls to fix up. That isn't what I wanted to do. At that time I didn't know I could file a claim with PayPal against that seller to get all of my money back, because I was new to it. I'd sure do that now. Enough of my complaining. Anyway, I wonder if Amazon is helpful if you have trouble with a seller on their site? I've never had to return anything that way. |

My sister and her family use Amazon. We use E-Bay. Best of both worlds,I guess.

I think all my Amazon items were third party. I liked it better because there was no bidding.

I agree,Sally, that bidding can be frustrating. That's why I am so happy that e-bay has "Buy It Now" items listed and if you want one of those
items, all you do is click on it and you bought it instantly.

I was outbid on one of those Monkees card sets that have been popping up on ebay. I totally forgot about the end of one auction so I lost that one first, and
the second went past my maximum bid. Oh well.

Which card sets were you looking at? The one's from 95 or the older ones?

They were the ones from the 90s, and it looks like they come up on ebay quite a bit lately. I'll try again.

The photos on those 90s cards of the Monkees are exceptional.
