I haven't had a chance to listen to this yet, but Nez speaks with Andrew about his virtual offshoot of Videoranch, the Monkees and some upcoming releases (CD release of Wichita Train Whistle)

I found it extremely interesting that Nez stated that he really had no desire to perform again (if I heard that right).
We kind of know he sort of made that clear when he left the 97 Monkees tour but I wonder if it might go a little deeper than that. I wonder if he really lost that desire when Red Rhodes passed away. Red really made up the 2nd major part of the "Nez National Band" for many years. There are a lot of great steelers out there but Nez & Red had a special relationship. But he did sort of say the the virtual performance was more interesting to him than the conventional mode and he may consider doing a VR performance. I personally would like to see him do a concert with sons Christian, Jonathan, Jason, and daughter Jessica. If he does, I will try to be there wherever in the world I am. It will probably be the best way to see him perform "live". BD the GOMOTB(Grumpy Old Man of the Board.....Yeah thats me! whatcha gonna do about it?)

FINALLY got around to listening to this...casual yet candid! Yes, it sounds like Nez is quite satisfied these days being host and impresario on Videoranch, doesn't it? No complaints here, it's a place I really enjoy...although I'm sure we'd all be delighted if he chose to perform again.  Can hardly wait to hear part 2! |

I cannot get Part 2 either ...
Either there is a typo in the link file or the file was removed (404 error page), just have to wait and see. I know briefly that part 2 and 3 were there, but removed later (someone else had mentioned that, but I hadn't got a chance to hear them myself)/ Sotet

They did have a good band though!!! That must have been really encouraging to the guys.(note sarcasm) Then the story of the 2 secret agent guys coming in and taking Nez's film and then giving it back was interesting. great interview, I need to listen again, I missed parts of it. It is difficult for me to sit at my PC for more than 10 minutes at a time most of the time.. sigh
I'd like to know all the songs that played in the background as well. I wonder what else Andrew has planned? Sotet

I finally go the bloody thing to work. It was great hearing Nez's voice, although I was a little disappointed in some of the things he had to say. (No biggie, just feeling sorry for myself).

Very much enjoyed all three interview segments with Nez! It was grand to hear his recollection of the tension waiting to hear what the Real Don Steele (R.I.P. and luv ya forevah, baby!) would play as "the Monkees' new single"! And a message to Mr. Sandoval - get your 'puter juiced up and come to the Ranch! Crazy Mad Molly guarantees she will make a tremendous fuss over you if you show up! |

OMG! I just was able to listen to this now, not being on the board regularly till lately. The podcasts are still on the Rhino site. Among other things it
talks about the '69 tour - I was allowed to go - in '67 two friends went but my Dad wouldn't allow me, so when they toured again the writing was
already on the wall, and I knew I wouldn't get another chance....so I bombarded my Dad till he agreed, lol. It was like Bart and Lisa from the Simpsons
when they bombard Homer about something till he agrees, lol. For those of you who perhaps haven't heard this 3-part interview yet and would like to, go to

And it also talks like probably the soundtrack of Head may be the only other re-release, after the 1st 4 were done.
