I'm back after a little hiatus. January wasn't a good month for me, with my sister being sick and all--but here's my new story. It's a Monkees variation of The Chronicles of Narnia. Anyone who wants to help is welcome to!
Mike and Micky were making so much noise in the pad, that nobody heard the click of the mailbox as it closed. The two Monkees were playing a game of keep-away from Davy.
"C'mon fellas, I really need that shirt tonight for my date!" Davy said, getting angry.
"Don't you have other shirts?" Micky teased.
"It's my lucky shirt!" Davy exclaimed, finally grabbing it from Micky's hand. "Every time I wear it, my date kisses me."
"Oooh, that's special." Mike laughed.
But Davy didn't laugh as he went back into his bedroom. Finally, Peter, who had been watching all this with amusement, remembered the mail.
"I'll go check on the mail." He told the others.
Peter went out and got the mail and brought it in. He quickly sorted it out between the four of them.
"Hey, here's one for Davy." Peter smiled. "It's from a girl!"
"Oooh, what's it say?" Micky asked.
"It doesn't say anything, you have to read it." Peter replied in all sincerity.
Mike and Micky slapped their hands on their heads. Just then, Davy came out wearing his lucky shirt.
"Any mail for me, Peter?" Davy asked.
"Yeah, one from a girl!" Peter smiled.
"Let me have it." Davy said, but Micky grabbed it from Peter.
"Let's see what...Daria...has to say." Micky said, reading the name on the return address.
Davy grabbed it back from Micky. "I'll have that." He snapped and walked away.
Peter then noticed an official-looking letter from a lawyer.
"I got a letter from Dewey, Cheatham and Howe." Peter said, wondering what a law firm would want with him.
"Well, open it." Mike prodded.
Peter opened the letter and read the contents aloud.
"Dear Mr. Tork," Peter read. "This is to inform you that you have inheirited a piece of furniture from your great-uncle Louis Tork. Please expect delivery within the next few days."
Peter looked at his friends. "I didn't even know I had a great-uncle Louis."
"Well, let's hope he gives you something nice." Mike replied.
The next day, a delivery truck arrived at the pad. The movers rolled into the pad a large wardrobe and left it in the living room.
