It's a comedy about Micky doing his werewolf imitations a little too much and it attracts the unwanted attention of a big game hunter!
One evening, a few nights before Halloween, the Monkees were rehearsing for an upcoming gig at the Sub Club. Mike was singing a new song he had written:
"You told me you'd never stray, you told me...." He sang.
After the song finished, Micky let out a howl, which caused the others to hold their ears.
"HOOWWLL! What a great song! It's going to wow the club Halloween night!" Micky exclaimed.
"Glad to hear it, Micky." Davy said, "But do you have to be so loud about it?"
"Oh, Davy, I thought you liked my werewolf imitations!" Micky asked, pretending to be hurt.
"They're fun in its place, Micky." Mike said, "But you're gonna get Babbit after us."
Right on cue, there was a banging on the front door. Giving Micky a sharp glance, Mike went over and opened the door. In stormed their landlord, Mr. Babbit.
"We're paid up this month, Mr. Babbit..." Mike began.
"Did you four hear that terrible noise?" Babbit asked, ignoring Mike.
"What noise?" Micky asked, all innocent.
"It sounded like some sort of...of..."
"Wolf?" Micky asked.
"Yeah, that's it, Dolenz." Babbit confirmed.
"No, we didn't hear it." Micky said.
Babbit glared at him. "Well, I did, and I hope I don't hear it again. It sounded terrible. You boys' playing sounded better than that."
"Gee, thanks, Mr. Babbit...I think." Peter replied.
"It must've came from the beach, Mr. Babbit." Mike said, leading him to the door.
"Yeah, all sorts of things might live on the beach." Davy added.
"Better go home and lock the door so the wolf doesn't get you, Mr. Babbit." Micky said, barely holding in his laughter.
The landlord just nodded and walked out the door. Micky waited until Mike closed it and then bust out laughing.
"HAHA! Did you see the look on his face?" He laughed.
The others were amused too, but Mike looked at Micky with a serious look on his face.
"You heard what he said, Micky." Mike said. "He doesn't want to hear it again, so you better cool it."
"Oh, Mike." Micky said, shaking his head.
"Mike's right, Micky." Davy said, "If Babbit thinks we're doing it, he could throw us out."
"So do your werewolf imitations somewhere else, please?" Peter added.
"Ok, ok!" Micky said. "I'll do my imitations on the beach." But he had his fingers crossed behind his back.
To Be Continued...
I don't think Micky's gonna keep his promise.
