The mod and admin jobs are handed out by me and me alone. I only say this so you won't ask any of the mods or admins if they'll grant you status.
The best way to get a mod job here is to be here a LOT, know a LOT about the Monkees and learn all the new things that Ezboard develops for us. Posting Monkee news to the board from other sources is also a GOOD way to catch my eye!
It keeps me from having to run all over the place tracking down the info myself.
The worst mistake you can make is to ask (or even hint) that you want a position. It just bugs me. Sorry.
If you've been around a LOT, posted a LOT, been a BIG help to me, know a LOT, haven't asked for a mod position and there's one open...you may just be asked if you'd like it.
I have to be very careful about who I ask to admin, because an admin can do anything here I can do, so it has to be somebody that I know well and trust completely. If I pick somebody to be an admin and they get mad at me, they can destroy the board.
They can erase all the forums and ban all the members, including me! Of course, I can get back in, but I'd have heck trying to fix everything again!
However, if you've been a mod and show a genuine interest in having more responsibily, you'll be considered for an admin position, should one become available. Admins get to know all the juicy behind-the-scenes stuff!
Anyway, I just thought I'd throw this in here, in case any of the newbies were wondering.
