Some of the flip sides of the Monkees' singles were as good as, if not better than, the A side. Some of them were "Take a Giant Step"
"Stepping Stone", "The Girl I Knew Somewhere", "Words" and "Goin' Down." I know there are others from the later
years but cannot think of them. Can anyone help me here? And, which do you think was the best?

of the ones you mentioned i LOVE take a giant step. it's so classic monkees. and i quite enjoy listening to goin' down. one day i'll be able to
make it all the way through without messing up the words. it's a fun song! micky does it well.

"Words" gets my nod. A lot of people tend to overlook this one, and it never gets played on radio as much as it should!

Along with the ones already mentioned here, I always liked "It's Nice to Be With You" the flip side of D.W. Washburn from early 1968.
The great thing about when these singles were out originally in the '60s, as I remember hearing them on the radio back then, was that both sides usually made the charts. Like if "A Little Bit Me, a Little Bit You" was No.2, the "Girl that I Knew Somewhere" would be something like No. 10 for that week. When "Pleasant Valley Sunday" was No. 1, "Words" would be a few notches below it. We'd get to hear both sides on the radio. Thank goodness for XM Radio. They play alot of these flip sides today. In the past few weeks, I've heard them play "Goin Down" and "Tapioca Tundra". |

And I kinda dig that XM plays the Nesmith sung version of "The Girl I Knew Somewhere", not to mention the mix of "Look Out (Here Comes
Tomorrow)" with Peter's voice over.

Yeah, my vote would probably either go towards "Words" (even though I prefer the earlier version) or "TGIKS". They were all good, though.

You are correct, Nora. Valleri was indeed finally released as a Single around the Spring of 1968. The flip side was "Tapioca Tundra."

Can somebody tell me how you know now which was A and which was B? How did we even know then? The record does not say A and B. I never considered some of
those A rather than B. The radio stations played some of them equally and some of your B sides a lot more than your A sides. I have all of those singles
except the Canada one. Does anyone have an extra one? (I know - "In your dreams!").
