Thanks LMbT. If I hadn't known better, I'd swear Ray and I had our returns planned perfectly!
Sorry you're not feeling so hot, Petey. Do the Canadian doctors recommend chicken soup and JellO and 7Up like the American ones do? BTW the earrings you made for Nora looked very nice.

Petey, did you get a diagnosis after all that? I'm not a doctor but it sounds like it could be a kidney infection.
I'm also so glad Tom and Ray have returned to the fold. They must have heard about the new Swedish towel girls in the Harmony Hut. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I think May 12th is the date for the increase in price for stamps. It's just another in a very long line of pains in the neck in the way of increases.
Going to the grocery store,I see that bananas here have went up from 33 cents a pound to 59 cents a pound. Milk has went from $1.88 a half gallon to $2.09.
Bread has went from $2.19 to $2.49.
It's all designed to give us,the consumer, ulcers. Everything is going up EXCEPT our paychecks. Good to see you back, too,Tom. Hmmm,I'll have to do something bad so I can get sent to the Harmony Hut.

Yea, the high gas prices over the past few years have driven up prices on all kinds of consumables. I know I pay almost twice as much for a dozen eggs than I
did a few years ago 1.80 for a dozen now vs. .90 just a few years ago. Eggs and many other foods are considered commodities, so the price fluctuates. Bananas
were usually around .40 an lb, but now, were are paying around .60.
Broccoli and strawberry prices zigzag all over the place for me, probably due to the season and where they are imported from. WB, Tom |

Thanks for the get well wishes, all- I'm feeling much better today- still a little nauseous, and I've got a headache, but other than that, pretty good.
Elmer- the doctors reccomended none of that- but Ginger Ale is a common one! Especially when you stir it so all the bubbles come out and it goes a little flat. I eat chicken soup a lot when I'm sick, but no one's reccomended it to me other than my nurse mom and my dad. Nora- no diagnosis other than I was in good health otherwise, and to take the mineral oil. (They did tell me that the mineral oil would help me go to the bathroom, but I won't go into that here Fortunately, I was able to re-schedule lunch with my best friend for tomorrow, and then we have a family dinner in the evening, so hopefully I'll be able to catch up on some lost time!

Hope you continue to feel better and better, Petey. No fun being sick on a long bus ride, that's for sure.
I am a happy camper today. The water classes offically went to the outdoor pool so I get my sunshine (although I cover up and slather up pretty well), I can breathe fresh air (indoor pools are notoriously humid) and best of all, I didn't come home smelling like chlorine bleach! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Here was a dilemma today I thought I'd never have: what kind of card to buy your step-grandmother, who doesn't really celebrate Mother's Day (her
words), yet is hosting a Mother's Day brunch for us? I finally went with a generic "For Someone Special on Mother's Day" card.
Before my mother-in-law got married last year, she and her main man were living together. She really wanted Chris to get him a Father's Day card last year, but he had a hard time finding a "For the Man Who's Shacking Up With My Mom" one! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

It seems like the greeting cards are getting harder to choose from. I've noticed that there are now quite a few different types of card dealing with
certain subjects, but to keep the same amount of space in the store, the choices of each card have been slimmed down from maybe 7 choices before to maybe 3
choices now.

I bought a bunch of Mother's Day cards last week. One for my mom, one for Lee's mom and step mom, and two for both of my mother in laws. I purchased
two that said "To A Very Special Person". I've only met Lee's step mom once and his mom twice.
I saw a Mother's Day card at Kroger (grocery store) that said, "Happy Mother's Day From Your Cat". I'm hoping to get that card....hehehe

I remember Kroger's from when I was little. They had one in Ft.Worth and it was really convenient. I miss that store.

Good ol' Kroger supermarkets - brings back memories of my youth in Michigan.
Mom called 45 minutes ago to say thank you for the Mother's Day flowers. I thought I told 1-800-Flowers to send them on Friday but I might have picked the wrong day on the online calendar they provide. Oh well, at least I didn't pick a day next week!

Btw, in case you didn't know, there is something available called the "Forever" stamp. It has a picture of the Liberty Bell on it, and you can buy as many of them as you want now for 41 cents each, and they will still be usable with no extra postage needed when the price goes up and no matter how often or how much the price goes up in the future, you should still be able to use them if you have them. Here's an article about them from when they first came out last year: http://www.usps.com/communications/newsroom/2007/sr07_014.htm If you think about how much work and travel goes into getting a letter from place to place, the price of postage is still a bargain even at the new price, though!

No Steak 'n Shake in SoCal, but we have lots of In N' Out hamburger places. Excellent stuff!
Today has now been my third week on Enbrel. I've been dealing with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis for well over 15 years now, and while the psoriasis has been manaegable (and luckily just on my legs where pants can hide the plaques) the arthritis had gotten worse. After getting a second opinion of "you better start taking Enbrel or you'll look like a pretzel in 10 years" I got a prescription and have been self-injecting the medicine. And what a difference! I have much more movement in my back and neck and the chronic swelling in my right hand has all but dissipated. My body feels tremendously better. Tomorrow it's off to Banff National Park in Canada for a week, so lemme at those hiking and biking trails!
