Mom called 45 minutes ago to say thank you for the Mother's Day flowers. I thought I told 1-800-Flowers to send them on Friday but I might have picked the wrong day on the online calendar they provide. Oh well, at least I didn't pick a day next week! -Tom

Btw, in case you didn't know, there is something available called the "Forever" stamp. It has a picture of the Liberty Bell on it, and you can buy as many of them as you want now for 41 cents each, and they will still be usable with no extra postage needed when the price goes up and no matter how often or how much the price goes up in the future, you should still be able to use them if you have them. Excellent stuff! Today has now been my third week on Enbrel. I've been dealing with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis for well over 15 years now, and while the psoriasis has been manaegable (and luckily just on my legs where pants can hide the plaques) the arthritis had gotten worse. After getting a second opinion of "you better start taking Enbrel or you'll look like a pretzel in 10 years" I got a prescription and have been self-injecting the medicine. And what a difference! I have much more movement in my back and neck and the chronic swelling in my right hand has all but dissipated. My body feels tremendously better. Tomorrow it's off to Banff National Park in Canada for a week, so lemme at those hiking and biking trails! -Tom

Maybe it's the fact that Mother's Day seems to be centered all around my mother and mother-in-law while I'm kind of getting left in the dust. Hopefully the fact I just made chocolate chip banana muffins will help!

After Chrissy and I got married and John was first born in 1989,Mothers Day was still us going to my parents house and meeting up with my sisters and their families and in a nutshell,gathering to honor my mother on her day. Sure Chrissy got Mothers Day wishes all around,but the get-together was for my Mom. When we went home that evening,a few friends dropped by and wished Chrissy her first Mothers Day. I guess that when my sisters went home,they celebrated the holiday,too,in that way. Same with Fathers Day. Looking back now that my Mother is gone,I am glad we celebrated that way. But I can understand your frustration.

I'm off to a comedy dinner theatre tonight, but I have no idea what the show is- turns out they had the wrong one listed on the website! One of my classmates got the idea to all get together for it as a 'before everyone leaves for summer' sendoff. (Funny, I just came back from my summer vacation! ) Ah, memories... I was a waitress at a school dinner theatre back in high school.... us females were all referred to as 'wenches', as it was a Three Musketeers show! -
