For all you fans of ESPN and Baseball Tonight, Wayne Avers is a dead ringer for Peter Gammons (who also plays guitar and sings)!

I realize this may not be true of every concert, but the fans at the shows I've been to have all been fun, polite people. No pushing and shoving, no
"I'm a bigger fan than you are" attitude. Just fans of goodwill, as Molly so aptly puts it. Makes me proud to be a fan!

Wonderful pictures!
And Molly - you'd don't need to "flick your BIc" - do what I do, just (assuming you have a flip phone) haul out your cell phone and wave it instead.

Nora, if I remember correctly from when Sandy was with Davy, he DOES have a daughter - I seem to recall his daughter being with him at Epcot! He often hands
out drumsticks to kids (I think he gave a set to Beets' son a number of years ago).
Anybody see this article? Nora - it mentions you (although not by name) as the catcher of the towel!

Yes, Cinni, the T.O. Acorn reporter was the Sally whom Nora mentioned. A very nice lady who attended all of the shows on the "3Kees" 2001 Tour.

Thanks Tom - I wondered if that was the same Sally.

Wow, I'm famous! Not only am I the "towel catcher", I'm also the one (well, one of the two) who came "all the way from Lodi"!

That has to be one of the nicest reviews I have seen. Nora, that's pretty funny that you are the notorious towel catcher!!

Mighty glad to meet you, Sky, thanks for dropping by this crazy thread! Now you know there's a real reason to practice your skyhook jump - you never know when a towel may be flying your way! |

Reports about the CVD's struggling budget are balanced with optimism...apparently classic rock is a good draw to this fair, and that's good news for us local fans of our favorite retro music! LINK |

Regarding "Sally" of the review: she's not officially a "reporter" but writes the occassional review and article for the paper. Also,
she didn't attend all the 2001 tour dates, just a few, including the last one with all three in Anaheim, Calf.

An interesting observations: I took photos of the Micky/Davy show at Calif. Adventura Park (Anaheim) in 2002. Coco sang. In my photos she had brown sort of
curly hair. But at the CVD show, her hair was blonde and straight! Any thoughts on that?

Great pictures! Great reviews! And a sweat towel to boot!
After reading the posts I have come to the conclusion that I have got to find a way to the west coast in September. Meeting Nora, Molly, Chris and Steve are an absolute must in things I need to do. And my new secret crush - Tony. (oops did I just type that outloud??? Sadly I know his heart belongs to Leah....doesn't it?) Mr. & Mrs. ElmerWitherspoon would be an added bonus. And of course, my babies - Heather, JJ, Happi and the extremely handsome "Tef-man"!! Molly, Dear....I must have the name of your fashion consultant. I've now seen two blouses worn by you that I must steal......er accidently put in my suitcase. Simply Divoon! (do you happen to know if they're available in 'tent & awning' size?) Crickey - who the heck are you and what have you done with LuAnne? |

Firstly...greetings to Flora! Great to meet you at the fair. Welcome to the pen!
LuAnne...I do hope you can make it to the West Coast in the fall, lots of things happening then! As to Tony and Leah...heck, my heart practically belongs to Leah, and I'm a chick! (We're talking Leah Tysse here, a regular special guest at the weekend concerts by VR3D's house band with one of the most amazing voices I've ever heard. Her voice can light a cigarette at 10 yards! I hope Monkeelanders with an interest in what El Nez is doing now will consider visiting during one of these live virtual concerts by house band Ranch Dressing featuring Leah, it's some fantastic music by them and fun company with other Ranch Regulars and guests!) As to my wardrobe...well, two things: 1. I'm fortunate to have an older sister who is a fashionista from way back and likes to pass it around to her little sisters, and 2. Once in a while on eBay or other auction sites, I'll find something that is just a great price and looks like it won't make my triangular-shaped figure look too unbalanced. (Note this blouse and the last one you admired do not cling to torso below the bustline. Makes it more challenging to detect my penchant for snacking. I don't have occasion to wear things like this very often - both those tops I had never worn before, and the white one from last summer I had gotten from my sister almost 20 years ago, I think! So I don't often purchase such items, and when I do, I tend to be particular. I love hints of festivity and maybe just a tad of retro style without looking like I'm "trying too hard", if you know what I mean. One annoying tendency I have...I don't have pierced ears, I like wearing my best nice and fun earrings to outings, and I always lose one of them when I go out on my jaunts! I have a small boxful of orphaned earrings. Maybe I should make a fangirl chatelaine out of them. "And I lost this one when..." |
