it rained here from noon yesterday until about 6am this morning. 18 hours long. We were going to build an Ark if it didn't slow down.

I'm here at work.... one hour to go on my first day... and man alive, am I bored! I'm doing graphic design work, but they don't have any of the
software (they can't find it, but the company says they shipped it and it should be here), so I've been sitting here doing rough work on paper all
day... well, other than safety training and a short meeting about the student council website. I now have the 'office' to myself, as the other three
folks in here took off early.
Sigh. So bored. Here's hoping they find the software by tomorrow, 'cause I do not want to do this again......

Sorry your first day on the job didn't quite turn out to be what you expected, Petey. Maybe you can bring a book tomorrow, just in case?
My heart goes out to those poor people in Mynamar and China, and to all those who have been afflicted with natural disasters here in the U.S. as well.

Today is my son's 22nd birthday and so we're just waiting on him and Anathea to come on over so we can sing Happy Birthday, take some pictures and then
head on over to Outback Steakhouse.
Where does the time go? It seems like only yesterday he was three and glued to my hip. *sighs* Sorry to hear about your first day on the new job being bored. Yeah, like Nora said, maybe you could bring in a book or something to occupy your mind.

Happy birthday to Cindy's "baby"! Cindy, I was also going to mention that you might want to check out what kind of shoes are at the uniform
stores (where nurses get their scrubs and shoes). They probably have some good ones designed for those on their feet for long hours.

work, where they're letting even the full time people take unpaid time off if they want it. I never usually do though, as I depend on my paycheck being

Well, the shoe issue is a done deal. On our way home from Outback, we spur of the moment decided to stop at Famous Footwear. And on a whim, I saw a pair of
shoes that had my name all over it. I *had* to buy them.

Nice pics, Cindy! I can't help you on why Karl makes funny faces, though, 'cause I'm a facemaker too!
Well, my second day on the job, still no software. At least they gave me a few projects to start thinking about, so I was able to get a lot of rough work done... so hopefully once I get on the computer, stuff will start coming together quickly!

What a nice day I had today. I spent the morning browsing through a few stores with my favorite co-workers from my days in the hotel biz. We used to work in
the hotel's restaurant together, and I don't get a chance to see them very often since the place closed and everybody went their own ways. We then had
a nice lunch at the local Applebees.
Then this afternoon, clear out of the blue, I get a phone call from a friend of mine who I haven't heard from in quite some time. Hopefully we'll get a chance to hang out and do something soon. And the weather was so nice today that I decided to take a stroll through the neighborhood this evening. Haven't been able to do that since last autumn. Shane

job, but he never gets around to it...) then open house at my daughter's school tonight. Gotta wait 'til it cools off a little bit to walk the dog.
