I hate the hot and humid weather. When it's 95 degrees and high humidity,I cringe. Being from Texas, one would think that I would love hot weather.
Well, yes,I do,but not oppresive humidity. In Texas it was hot,but the humidity was low. So,I remember it being 105 degrees but the humidity level was so low
that it wasn't bad. One thing you have to remember, though is to carry water with you.

This time of year, I only complain about hot weather when I'm overdressed! I walked home from work yesterday, but didn't realize it was quite so hot
out- I was in black pants, a t-shirt *and* a black hoodie. The wind was coming on and off, so it wasn't quite t-shirt weather, but it was still darn hot,
especially once I got walking.
I figure if I walk home from work every day for the rest of the month, I save $20.

My a/c went on at 8:00 am, and it's programmed to go on when it reaches 80 in the house. It's gonna be a long, hot day.

And on the other side of the coin, the heater went on this morning and has been going on all day off and on. It was 44 last night and is only supposed to be a
high of 56 today.

I went swimming with my brother yesterday haha. It was only for like 10 minutes, since he wasn't quite used to it (he hasn't been swimming in ages =/)
but it was fun!

My first week of full-time work came to an end yesterday, and now I'm looking into craft swaps on craftster.org- I'm super excited for the Stranger
than Fiction one. It's so awesome to be making money again so that I can send things to people!

Nice temps, Ray. It seems cooler overall this time of year, April and May, at least in our area. I like it though, not ready for the summer.

If you don't see me for a while, it will because I'm dealing with the loss of my beloved Bubby. I just feel completely crushed....

The pictures of Bubby that you put in the "Fur Kids" thread from early this morning are very touching.

Thank you Nora, Marnie and Ray for your kind words during this time. I'm finding out that I need to keep myself busy so that I...well you know.
I'm having a really difficult time dealing with his loss. He was a very big part of this family and is very much missed. I've never felt such grief before in my life. I mean, when my gerbies cross over, the pain is there. But the pain of losing Bubby is 10x worse. *sighs* He was still asking for breakfast at 7 this morning and before we left to the vet, he ate alittle more. I know we made the right choice, but it sucks. Thank you all for your support. You guys are the best friends anybody could ask for at Monkeeland.

Maybe after I go to bed and wake up tomorrow morning, I'll feel alittle better. I doubt it, but I'm gonna try.
Thanx Ray. You're a great friend to have.

It'll get easier day by day, Cindy. I don't know how, but it always does. Many people I know grieve as much for their lost pets as they do their
human loved ones. Pets provide us with unconditional love.
Here's something that might give you a giggle: My son, who was doing so well with potty-training before the ill-fated trip to San Diego, is now being rather obstinate about it. So I've taken to doing the "pee-pee dance" when he does go. Yep, seven years of higher education did not prepare me for this. And here's something sweet to think about: It's cherry season! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Nora's right. Unconditional Love is the perfect term.

Mmmm, cherries! I loooove fresh cherries. I don't really like them any other way... wacky. I'm excited that whole pineapples are coming down in price
now that they're in season. Mmm mmm!

Hi guys!
First, my sympathies go out to Cindy. There's a sign in our kitchen that says "Pets are children in fur coats" so Coleen and I know what you're going through. We had a great time in Calgary-Banff last week. It had snowed the day before we got there so it felt more like February than May. Then right before we left it got up to 25º C (around 80º F). It was like having the spring season condensed into seven days! I put together a photo gallery that you can see here.
