I was watching a few of the Jon Pertwee Doctor Who episodes with The Master (Roger Delgado) and I still find him to be incredible. And how he snaps his fingers
while wearing gloves I will never know.

Wow a Doctor Who thread, great idea.
Silence in the Library is a two parter, as a lot of you have not seen it yet I won't give anything away, but what I will say is that this is a spooky episode, part two is on this Saturday. Has anyone one seen the episode with the little fat children, I thought that was very good.
Did you know that Georgia Moffett who plays the Doctor's daughter is the daughter of Peter Davison who played the Fifth Doctor? I actually got The Stone Rose and The Feast of the Drowned, CD books free with the Radio Times, I haven't listen to them yet though.

There is a 10 minute segment on youtube featuring David Tennant as Doctor Who and he is aboard the TARDIS when there is some sort of quake and suddenly,Peter
Davison appears as The Doctor.
It's a great sketch and it's called "Time Crash". Here's the link..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Um_8unOhPvs

Tennant 'is leaving Doctor Who?
David Tennant and Catherine Tate team up for the new Dr Who series Catherine Tate has suggested that the next series of Doctor Who could be the last for actor David Tennant. The comedian, speaking on Radio 2's Jonathan Ross programme, said: "I think it's maybe David's last series." The BBC refused to comment on Mr Tennant's future as the show's star. Tate, who first appeared in the 2006 Christmas special, is to return as the doctor's assistant, Donna, for the entire run of the fourth series. She will also be joined for several episodes by the doctor's former companion Martha Jones, played by Freema Agyeman. When pressed on whether Tennant would return to play the timelord in special Dr Who shows in future, Tate replied: "Possibly." The comedian also confirmed that the forthcoming series would be her last. '''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' I hope this is just a rumour? David Tennant is my personal favourite Doctor Who and it would be a shame to lose him.

I agree. David Tennant is the first actor to play Doctor Who that I've liked since Tom Baker.

Really Ray? That's a shame! I've liked lots of the doctors and as much as I like David Tennant I'd like to see who's next.

After Tom Baker left in 1981,it took me quite a while to get used to Peter Davison. By the time I got used to him,he decided to leave the series. I was never
into Colin Baker or Sylvester McCoy,mostly because they took Doctor Who off the air during those two's runs as The Doctor.

My folks were absolute Dr. Who fanatics way back when. I vaguely remember watching some with them, and dad still has videos recorded off tv floating around.
I've always been vaguely interested in checking it out as a result, but just never have. But a few weeks ago, mom was flipping through channels and we got
in at the beginning of an episode of the new show. And it just happened to be the one with Sarah Jane and K-9. So as you could imagine, she was positively
geeking out about it. Seeing her nerdish glee left me with little choice but finally to look into it.
I'm currently a few stories into the first doctor. Now I get why my parents love it. Despite the painfully low budget, the stories are quite entertaining. I'm positively loving William Hartnell. I've seen bits of the other doctors, but I rather enjoy this one, who is basically an arrogant and crabby old man with no patience for anyone. It's a nice clash with the human companions who often take exception to his attitude. I was sorry to learn that BBC erased a large chunk of the early episodes, so there's a lot from the first doctor I won't see. Particularly the episode where he changes to the second doctor. Stupid BBC....

Actually, the clip of Hartnell changing into Troughton does exist. Seek out a tape or DVD called "The Troughton Years" and it features rare clips and
complete episodes.
I absolutely love the Jon Pertwee years. He was like a James Bond version of Doctor Who. He had the gadgets, the cool vehicles, did karate and so on.

The first time I encounter Dr Who fans was at a couple of local Sci-fi conventions. This is when we got the Baker episodes, which were 3 years behind what they
showed in England. I remember the fans here being desparate to see new episodes. That a friend of one them who lived in England would point a 8mm recording
camera at a pal tv screen and record and then transfer to VHS and it was green flicked terrible and the sound was good, but it was gold to fans. They had 8
VCR's hooked up to one another, hooked up to the TV in the hotel recording non-stop for that little piece of gold. I guess transferring from Pal to VHS was
expensive back then, and to try to find someone who could transfer was another story. Old Pal tape was about and inch larger then VHS, so they were not
compatible. When I was in England in 1998 they had changed Pal tape size to the same size as VHS tapes, but they were still Pal. Now of course we have DVD, but
you have to watch which region you have. If you have a DVD that is region free you are lucky, though Best Buy will fix your DVD player to make it region free.

I always hated that there were region codes for DVDs and different formats for VHS. Thank goodness for Region 0.
