Ray: I suppose Angie could've handled herself without resorting to violence (as we all should) but part of me admits that I would've done the same thing if I was provoked like that. Maybe she needed to sock him to finally get the rest of her anger out. Maybe she can start to move on and begin healing. Shane: stay dry and safe! Is there any threat to your home? Do you have flood insurance? Very cool of your bosses to let you have the day off. Petey: sorry to hear about your condition. At least you seem in reasonably good spirits - I thought I detected a slight "Yellow Submarine" reference in your post (I want me mum!). Incidentally, I wanted to ask if they still mine lots of amethyst up in the Thunder Bay area. My uncle once told me there's tons of it there. Oh, and please tell Mike "Go Cubs" for me. I feel the same way. I talked with Angie this morning and she said after all these months of the hurt she had been put through,it was just a monumental relief. She also said that if he hadn't gotten smartmouthed with her yesterday,she would of just walked away. Do you know that's the first time she ever doubled up her fist and did something like that? I guess a person can only be pushed so far until the hurt gets so bad. Thanks,Sally.

I can understand that. John won 8 awards from his school this year,the most any single student won in a single year. His proudest award is the "Comeback of The Year". Yes,I am proud that Angie stood up for herself. I know there are plenty of people who choose to back away from that subject,but when one considers the emotional pain she's been through,I think even a pacifist would of had enough at some point.

It's funny, when I told a friend of mine I was jaundiced and turning yellow, my first thought was to sing "Mary is a yellow submarine, a yellow submarine, a yellow submarine!" "I want me mum" is my favourite line in that entire movie, though. And yep! Lots of amethyst. I have a bunch of little pieces back home, and my dad has some really nice big chunks. Sometimes I include a few small rocks in parcels I send out to people. -

I tried keeping up with the posts here. Shane, wow! I hope you get much needed rest. The weather has been so crazy everywhere. I hope everyone is safe, I knew the flooding was bad out that way, but wow, hit your hometown! Glad you could make a quick update. Ray, I liked reading that, about Angie. And I do keep John in my prayers, even after all this time. Angie, you will like Nashville, I think it is a fab town myself as I had lived there as a kid. People are friendly. I wish there was a chance I would go up there as I have friends there, but for the next several months chances are slim I would get to go. Petey: please take care, I hope you get much better quickly. I don't know much about gallstones trouble, but it sounds uncomfortable, being jaundiced ... Take care, I hope to be back soon again ...

People are saying that there hasn't been anything like this here in 40 years, and I hope I never see the likes again in my lifetime. Living in an upper apartment, I'm okay, and by some unknown miracle my Dad did not take on any water, even though his street was flooded until well after midnight. My Mom and stepdad weren't so lucky, and my sister and bro-in-law are really hurting right now. They got 13 inches of water in their basement. They've had their gas and heat turned off as precautions. It's going to take a lot to get them cleaned up from this. I was nearly in tears earlier. It sounds like my sister lost some, if not all, of her Dickens Village Christmas collectibles to the flooding. A lot of those pieces meant a lot to her, as they were either passed on to her, or purchased for her as gifts, by my grandmother before she died a number of years ago. You just can't replace this stuff. But at least everybody is safe and nobody is hurt. In fact, it's a beautiful night tonight. If it weren't for several streets and parkways that are still flooded out, you wouldn't know what had happened 24 hours ago. Life just sucks sometimes. I hope everything went okay with the doctor, Petey....and Ray, tell Angie that I woulda decked the guy had I been in her shoes, too. Shane Keep an eye out for Public Enemies! We've been taking it easy watching movies and playing games and had some root beer floats 'cause according to mom a few days ago, "you'll need a root beer float after all that!" hehe. It's nice to have a mummy here to take care of me. -

She says that the down side of being a surgical nurse is that you get really picky about who you'd want operating on you- but I'll be glad if I can get someone that she would get! I'm a lot less yellow than I was, thank goodness the jaundice is going away- and apart from getting a little sleepy and dizzy at times today, I've done pretty well. Mom and I went out and about shopping today, so that may have pushed it a little, but I'm fine now that I can lie down in bed! -
