I live in the town where all 4 of them live (and I probably just told you where I live, ), and I see them quite regularly in the grocery stores and in restaurants. The tornado that hit William Lee Golden's house back in 2006 missed my house by 1/2 mile. I like a lot of their music, but I've never seen them in concert. People who live here near Nashville don't approach any of the celebrities when we see them (I'm sure it's the same way in and near Los Angeles) because, essentially, they're our neighbors and we try to respect their privacy, so I've never spoken to any of them. The guys are SO unbelievably nice and polite. They are joys to work with. Have you checked out Carl's site lately for an update on his accident? He posted 3 pictures of him, 1 with his girls too, and 3 pictures of the car. It's amazing. Sky429, I know exactly what you mean. Once I left my adolescent years, seeing someone 'famous' just didn't warrant that giddyness anymore. When appropriate, I've never had a problem approaching anyone to say hi or ask for a picture or something. I think I'd be the same way living in a place like Nashville. Actually a few years ago I had planned to live there. Beautiful place. I'm in Florida and I don't like it a bit.

We're in one of the suburbs (well, you know where, ), and the schools here are wonderful, and my kids have made good friends, and my husband and I have made good friends. We're away from family, but I feel like we still have a "support group" of friends, you know, people we can ask to pick up the kids if we have an appointment or that sort of thing. The worst thing is the heat and humidity in the summer, and the lack of snow in the winter (I miss snow). I like some parts of Florida--I'm sorry you're unhappy there. The Oak Ridge Boys was the first group I ever saw in concert-probably way back in '80 or '81 at the Concord Pavillion. I remember it was hot!

Gosh I would have thought you would in that area. Even Raleigh gets a few inches in Winter. And I did love that. I don't want feet of snow, but a couple inches is nice. I'm sure I'll be moving out of Florida in the next couple years or so. (crosses fingers) And people are much nicer up there as well! NoraLou - Thank you! You might not think so, but they still put on a great sounding, high energy show. The band behind them, most members having been with them for years, is one of the best group of musicians I've heart. They also do a big Christmas production each year as well. I would highly recommend another visit, especially if they come close to you during the holidays. Jonesounds - Save his site. He's been updating regularly since his accident (can you believe it?). The guys DO have a ball; they're a great group of guys. The band is carrying on with a replacement (see the news on www.theguesswho.com), but they're waiting anxiously for when Carl can join them again. I'm already planning to be at his first show back...wherever it is!

Usually just a light dusting, maybe an inch or so every few years. Our first winter here, we got 7 inches in one snowfall--the city practically shut down. We're originally from West Virginia, so 7 inches wasn't all that much to us (enough to close schools for a day or maybe two up there)--school was closed for a week down here, businesses shut down, the interstates were filled with abandoned cars. It was a mess! They just don't have the equipment for efficient snow removal because they don't need it very often. They're equipped for some snow, but one day a surprise snow/ice storm blew in. No one had time to get the salt trucks or the scrapers out....ice froze over all the roads...the city literally shut down. People on the highways were sliding down the hills....people on the country roads couldn't get up the hills to go home...kids were stuck at school....cars were abandoned....others were stuck at work. It was insane! Rvm67 - I do love that song! And they rock when they play it! I have to say, "Do You Miss Me Darlin'" is my recent favorite. Last time I heard them sing it, the harmonies sounded amazing. I'll be seeing them in Williamsburg in August; minus Carl of course who is still recovering. Jonesounds - The lyrics to "Share the Land" are great. I'm big on lyrics though, especially songs from the 60's and 70's. When I get back from the Williamsburg trip, I will definitely post here for all to see.
