I was out taking a walk through my neighborhood this evening, which I like to do in the summer when it's nice. As I made my way towards Main Street, there was a big ol' marching band playing their way down the street. Little did I know that tonight was the Ms. Wisconsin Pageant parade. Our city has hosted the Miss Wis pageant for many, many years but over the years it has become a lesser deal than it used to be. This did remind me of the year David's show went on at Waterfest in '05. He happened to get to the hotel just as the parade was going by, and basically walking right past the hotel's front doors. He just stood out there and watched, virtually unrecognized for quite a while. I later told him that we really rolled out the welcoming committee for him! I was picked for a test pilot program at work today for the calls we take through ESPN shop. They're looking to give customers a more "personal" experience, calling people by their first names and spending extra time looking for items people are looking for and upselling. Of course, no extra pay though. On the other hand, they must think I'm doing something right for them to pick me for this thing...so there's some job security there.
