Yes, I will keep everyone posted. So far today I have met my mother at our Church to set up for altar guild, gone to breakfast with my parents (since today is also my father's 61st birthday), came home to do a few things around here, then I will get ready to drive to my ML friend's house and spend time with her before the show tonight at 8 pm. I'm very excited. I have my camera all ready and my book of Micky's that I am taking, should they have an autograph session (prays very much for one).

But yes, I will give everyone a report. I should take notes too, as I forget very easily. LOL! We shall see, we shall see. to you all.

Well, what can I say? Hmmmm?

Well, I got to meet one of my online ML friends in person and she was an absolute doll. She was very sweet and nice and such a wonderful hostess. I had a really good time of fellowship with her and her mother before the concert. I also got to meet my friend's husband as well.

The parking was extremely atrocious, however, my friend did find a good parking spot and we had to walk a long ways to the park where the concert was at. We set up our folding chairs near the middle of the stage, although it was at the side. We still had very good seats. Then some people sat in front of us, which, of course, obscured the view a little.

The concert was very good. I did not have a pen so I could not keep track of the set list, plus I did not get a flyer (or even know if one was given out). Micky was quite humorous and looked very good.

Coco is an amazing singer as well. She sang a few solos, which were very good.

The guy and his child that sat in front of me kept staring back at me when I would scream woohooo at Micky's singing and dancing because, quite frankly, I am very loud when I scream.... and I think even my ML friend was shocked at how loud I screamed, but she didn't say a word about it. She had a good time too. It was a very nice time. When I get my pictures developed, I will try to post some.

Micky told us all how it was like when Jimi Hendrix was on tour with the Monkees, including what the fans did to Jimi. He also gave honor to all of the songwriters who wrote the songs for the Monkees, for the songs that Mike Nesmith had wrote, and then the song that Davy had sung. No mention of Peter whatsoever. I had to laugh when Micky dropped the microphone to indicate the size of Davy. He bent over forward and sung into the microphone like that for a moment before raising it back up. It was quite humorous.

Micky did sign autographs at the end. We had to wait in a very long line (some gal walked by us and said, "it will take 3 hours before you will ever get up there). She never did go up because she was very mad I guess. However, when we did finally get up there for the autographs, however, I felt the thing was extremely rushed. (Keep in mind, the last time I had been to a concert was in high school for R.E.M. at the, then, Rosemont Horizon), so things might have changed over the years.

He did sign my book of his autobiography that I had brought with. My ML friend did buy a picture for him to autograph. (The picture was $15.00 I guess and it was an older picture of the four guys. Really kind of expensive in my eyes, but just my opinion).

Anyway, all in all it was a good concert and I got to see Micky live in concert. For those wondering if I blundered, um the only thing I really got to say at the autograph session was "hi Micky", as I said it was extremely rushed (in my opinion).

But it was a good concert. I did notice a few things though. Micky seemed to go back to the back where the drum was and drink a lot of water and he had some other sort of thing back there that he was using as well. I couldn't exactly tell what it was from the distance I was located at. Not sure what it was.

The saddest part of the concert was Micky did NOT take the drums at ALL. I was a little disappointed at that, but such as life. It was a good concert though. The most unique thing was, they had servicemen guarding the autograph line, which I found a little odd, but again, such as life. I told my friend, I certainly wouldn't want to mess with any of the servicemen/women that were there. It was an honor I'm sure them being there, just a little 'odd' at a concert.

Then we went back to my friend's house and she so graciously let me stay overnight so I wouldn't have to drive back so late. Thank you darlin! I had a great time at your house with you. You know who you are. *HUGS*

Anyway, that's my report for the West Chicago concert everyone. Sorry I can't be more descriptive, but I'm not putting the songs down that I remember because it wouldn't be good for me to do since I don't have an exact song list. I will say this though, Micky did play his piece that he performed at his Monkee audition, the song Johnny B. Good! It was very great.
