The other night, me and Lee were goofing around and came up with the bright idea of trying to snap pictures of the retro room with the blacklight on just to
see if it would work or not. And to our surprise, it did. Check it out!

Back in the day I had a blacklight poster, the velvety kind, that I really liked. It was named "Tree house". But in time it got very tattered and
torn so it had to be retired.
Speaking of "high" ahem. We play a card game at the center called golf. The point is to get the low score. I kept saying I was high score. I said that it was pretty good when I had to come to the senior center to get "high".

Another case of different words used in different countries. 
A blacklight is a purplish colored light that makes neon colors glow in the dark when the light is on. It probably is the same as a UV in your country. Does a UV do the same thing?

Wasn't there a terrible band called Bongwater who covered a Monkees number?!
And Rachael - yeah a UV light makes everything looks just like it does in Cyn's piccies, which is why I thought it might be the same thing! Funny name though - blacklight - it should be called a purplelight if anything

I used to think the same thing. It is just a regular light bulb that you screw in just like any other, it can also be flourescent. I've had both. At the
risk of being sent to
 , a black light can be used as a turn on
wearing only white undies. And yes, I do know by experience - back
in the day, of course.

Wow Sally, congratulations on your 6000 post! (How do you guys make the letters and numbers bigger and colored?)
I think they call it a blacklight, El, because it is basically very dark except for the glowing stuff, and also it looks the best with those black background posters. I seem to recall some band name like that too, like you said... My first job was for Spencer Gifts in the 70's and they often put me in the blacklight section! I had to deal with all those uh, people not in their right minds, lol, while working in that section. But it was a lot of fun. Farrah Faucett posters sold like hotcakes, lol....Roger Daltry posters did too. The very beginnings of disco music played on the store's pa system, so one can guess at what time that was when I worked there, lol.
