My mp3 player broke a while ago, and I really miss it. I want to get a new one but don't know what kind. Anyone have any suggestions? My last one was
Creative brand, and it was easy to use when it worked, but it froze so much that it got to point of not letting me add any more songs and deleted a lot of my
library. I want one that's easy to use, and maybe has a video player on it as well. I'd like to steer clear of using iTunes, also. I have Windows
Vista and XP. I hear the Vista is hard to find compatible players for. I've read reviews online and Ipods always get great reviews, but, again iTunes I
don't know about.

No reason to fear Itunes. It works fine on Vista too.
Itunes is a great application. I use it all the time... particularly for the Radio stations. Lots of great eclectic and indie music choices. ...and it gets my whites whiter and minty fresh breath too!!!!

Thanks. I read somewhere that Ipods might not work with Vista. I guess it could just be faulty units that do it. I'll definitely look into them some
more. I like the look of the Classic model.

I have a Classic Ipod and Vista and have had no problems. Good luck!

I personally am considering getting an Apple IMAC (I love the huge screen machines) or a Macbook Pro for my next computer since over the last 2 years I have been increasingly dissapointed with the ever changing Microsoft Windows versions and Internet Explorer which both often reek with problems and security issues. Not that Microsoft based applications are necessarily bad... ITs great when it works well but it requires very high maintenance and babysitting to perform at optimum and you're always loading security patches the developers "forgot" to build when they deployed a version.. Besides, Apple Platforms have the power I need to persue my hobbies in music and video production. Thats just my opinion but IPODs and Itunes are great devices and applications.

iMacs are great!
As for MP3 players, I have one of the very first iPod shuffles; my brother gave me his old one when he upgraded. It's simple enough to use, and iTunes makes loading it really easy. I also like the radio stations available on iTunes, but I know I've had issues with them on non-Mac computers before.
