One other thought: Calico? Calico cats and calico fabric are mixtures of many different patterns. Is that how he saw the FNB? Nothing could be more calico than the Monkees, though, I think.

Nevada Fighter:
Grand Ennui: The excesses that come with fame, wealth, and celebrity, and the boredom that comes with it, as exemplified in Vanilla Sky.

Propinquity: I wonder when he actually wrote this? Sounds like it's about Phyllis.

Here I Am: Seems to be about giving a relationship a second chance.

Only Bound: Regret over a lost love.

Nevada Fighter: I don't know. Nezscape? Is it about soldiers? "He thought Sam would remember, but he was too old." Uncle Sam? left in the desert, left by the highway? Or Indians? I need help on this one.

Texas Morning: I know Nez didn't write this, but he was friends with Mike Murphy, and Phyllis did leave and go home to Texas for awhile, and could Cactus Jack, I always wonder, be Jack Nicholson? Did they go down to Texas so that Mike could talk to her? It all just sounds too much like that situation to be a coincidence. At any rate, it's a beautiful, beautiful song.

Tumbling Tumbleweeds: I love this version. Another one I imagine Michael was itching to try.

I Looked Away: An Eric Clapton song. Wonder who recorded it first? I can't remember when Clapton's version was on the radio. Anybody?

Rainmaker: Nez must be a Burt Lancaster fan, although he didn't write this one either. During one of his concerts, he says, "And I'm Burt Lancaster!" Another great song, and obviously derived from the movie of the same name.
