I have loads of Monkees books, CDs, and both TV seasons on DVD - have been a fan since forever and still luv all the guys, especially Nez. I dragged Mike to their concert in 2002 and he was amazed at how good they actually were live. Micky's voice is exceptional, especially after all these years. I enjoy Dancing (tap, jazz and belly dancing) and have just performed at a charity concert. I also love the theatre and the cinema, and have been doing yoga for the last 9 years. Im Samantha (Sam) and i've been dipping my feet in and out of the Monkee pool for ages now. After a short spell in un-monkee wilderness i've finally decided that i can no longer deny myself the Monkee-love and so here i am.... Anyhoot, im 30ish years of age, im short and British (like Davy) but unfortunately i don't ever get those twinkling stars in my eyes like he does! I love all of The Monkees for very different reasons but if i had to pick a favourite i'd opt for Jonesy just because in a funny way i feel very protective of him. I just bought the Monkees second season DVD boxset so for the last three days i've been couped up at home re-watching the shows and being reminded of everything i loved/love about the show and the guys. Im a big fan of the music too and the movie Head and yes i am one of those sad suckers that bought The Brady Bunch Movie just for 3kees cameo. I've only seen the guys in concert once back in 97' but i was lucky enough to catch a show with all four Monkees together which was rather fab. Well, i guess thats about all i've got but i look forward to speaking to you all on the boards very soon. Luv n' Peace Sam.

My name is Rachael (note the spelling so as not to confuse me with another)....I am 51, and I have been widowed since Apr 8, '04, after being married for 28 yrs - we were married on Valentine's Day of '76. I'm a 1st gen fan, being the ripe old age of 12 going on 13 way back in '67....I would call my friend Virginia for homework, and other school related stuff....but on Monday nights she wouldn't want to talk....when I finally asked her why, she said she was watching a show on tv, The Monkees! So I had to tune in, and I have been in love with them ever since! I had the records, the Tiger Beat and 16 mags, posters all over the walls of my area of the bdrm (shared with my 2 younger sisters). My fave was/is Micky...lived and breathed Micky for the next 3 yrs or so, I was hooked! He is sooo fine! After I wrote 4 times to Micky's fan club, I really did get a handwritten reply in 1968 - he said Hi Rachael, and talked about filming their movie Head - took about 2 wk for me to come back to normal! (The letter, mag pictures, and records 'cept for some 45's were lost to the 4 winds through moves, marriage, motherhood, omg! I could jump off a bridge over that!) Saw him, Mike and Davy in concert in '69 in Chicago (I live in NW Indiana)....alas, life goes on and I grad from h.s. in '72, went to work, got married, had 3 boys....in the 80's when MTV aired the episodes, I didn't watch, though they were on in the background (my husb and kids watched), lol, I thought been there done that I wanted to know what they were doing NOW. Then they toured, but I was sick when they were in my area! :-( I kept up with rock music in general, then one day in the 90's, my music became my kids music - grunge hit the airwaves. Found out Micky had written a bio so I bought it, watched their specials on ABC, VH1, and the movie Daydream Believer....my husb and I saw Davy in concert in 2000 at a local fest, we stood in a line of 500 to meet him, saw Micky, Davy, and Peter in 2001 and got to meet them in the bar in the hotel afterwards - I was thrilled to be there - couldn't believe they were right in front of me milling about - my husb thought it was hilarious the way I was carrying on! Then I saw Micky in concert with the Teen Idols Tour one summer at Navy Pier. Then empty nest was happening, at the same time, my husb got sick and passed from colon cancer, then my parents passed 6 mo apart....I got me a laptop in Feb of this yr, and discovered all the Monkee/Micky info on the net, and all the many fans.... where have I been!! But more importantly, here I am again!! And now that I have written a short story here, lol, I want to say HI to all fellow Monkee/Micky fans, and move over cuz I'm joining ya!!!

I am 32 yrs old I have been a Monkee fan since 1978.I was 4 yrs old back then i believe lol. Anyway, I have always dreamed of meeting at least 1 monkee. Davy mostly lol. This band came to my town 4 years ago and they advertised The Monkees. I was so excited. I was finally going to go see the Monkees. So when my friend and I got there and the band started up, I got butterflies in my stomach.The Monkees right there in front of me wow. Then at the end of the show my friend and I got to go backstage and we met the sweetest 4 people. The Missing Links. At first we were disappointed. So we all swapped emails and I have kept in contact with The Missing Links for 4 years now and became good friends. And just last year I wanted to do something really nice for the band. So I created a Missing Links Fan Club. I designed it and Dannys manager and booking agent looked at it and I now run the Fan Club and I love it. www.freewebs.com/themissinglinks More about me lol...... I'm an education major- once I finish my degree I plan to teach Catholic school. I like to read classic literature and Us Magazine. I've been a Monkees fan for 20 years now; unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to see any of them in concert. (I hear rumors that SSB will be in Kansas this summer. My name is Don, I am an Electronic Tech for a major company in the Northwest. Among other things I am a Minister in the Universal Life Church (Weddings only) and part owner of "Classic Stables" which is a small group of friends who breed, raise and race Thourabred horses at the Emerald Downs Race Track in Auburn Washington. I am Married (Just over a year now) to a lady that I met on a board similar to this one several years ago. I have 3 brothers and 3 sisters and no children except for my step son who is a Certified Harley Mechanic working in Ft. Worth Texas.

My name is Marilyn Anderson, but I prefer going by my online nickname of Cookie. I may be a newbie on this board, but when it comes to the Monkees, I have been a fan since almost the beginning. Yes, I am a first-generation fan. I became a fan through my oldest brother when I was 8. (I'll be turning 49 in July.) We pretended to be the Monkees. I first had a crush on Davy, but that changed when I was made to play Peter. It's been him ever since! I used to have a Monkees nickname of the Connecticut Counterspy...aka TCC. (I mention that just in case there is anyone here who might have known me back in the late 1980s when I was pen palling with a lot of fans.) Back in 1986 (I believe it was that year) when Micky and Peter were fill-in VJs on MTV. I had the thrill of Peter reading my postcard on the air. I used to have a way big Monkees collection until about 2-1/2 years ago. Due to circumstances, we had to put our stuff into storage...including all of my Monkees stuff. I won't go into details, but we couldn't keep up with the payments and lost everything we had in there. (I will be putting up a post in the appropriate section, asking for some help, maybe, in replacing some of the stuff...like that video of Peter reading my postcard.) OK, some things about ME...I come from a large family. I am number 6 of 7. (The youngest is 7-1/2 years younger than me...making her 8 months old when "The Monkees" first aired on NBC.) I am currently a cashier at IKEA. It is the first job I held outside the home in more than 20 years. Most of those years were spent taking care of my mom in our home. (She had a crush on Davy from the start.) She passed away back in October 2002. My dad passed back in April 1990. I am an aunt to 11 and a great-aunt to almost 9. (Number 9 is due in late April.) (A co-worker of mine says that I should say grand-aunt instead because of the way it sounds.) I am currently helping my younger sister raise her oldest grandson. Some of my other interests include: Beatles, Peter Frampton, several British programs - including the improv show "Whose Line is it Anyway?" and "Doctor Who", "Quantum Leap" and it's stars Scott Bakula (he's the one in my pic) and Dean Stockwell, Mel Gibson, Sawyer Brown, Alabama, "NCIS",...
