Quote:I have to say, this one had me stumped for a little while, but then all of a sudden, as I was walking home just now, it occurred to me: it's Peter in "Dance, Monkees, Dance" when he's trying to answer the Martin Van Buren question! Here's one that doesn't sound too nice, but I think you'll know it: "I hate these kids!" |

That was Mendrick the Magician in "The Monkees Paw", although I think it was technically, "I hate these
Here's another one:"Scorched you again there, Yamashita." Nora |

No, dydrmblvr, it was Micky. The interview took place at the end of Everywhere A Sheik, Sheik. I just looked it up because it was bugging me. You can view a transcript of said interview here:

Aha! I understand the confusion now, WonderGirl! Nora and dydrmblvr were both referring to
Quote:, but you must have missed that one, which was on the bottom of the same post in which dydrmblvr replied that the "I really hate these interviews, man" quote was from Micky in a couple of post-episode interviews, including the one following "Everywhere A Shiek, Shiek," as you mentioned. You must have just missed her post somehow. Quote:Technically, it was also Hans Conreid, rather than his character, although, you know, even though I've heard people say that Mr. Conreid used an expletive in that phrase, I don't remember ever hearing a bleep or a pause between "these" and "kids" while he's saying it. Is it possible that he said something similar (expletive included) which was never shown or heard on TV, or have I just been missing something every time? Or maybe the Gotta go down to the laundry now, so I don't have time to respond to the latest quotes. I'm glad to see more people playing, though! Have fun, everybody! |

Find the Monkees aka The Audition (??) Peter, when the boys were laying on the floor after finding out that their friends got invitations to audition for Hubble Benson.
If that was correct: "I was a has-been. Now I'm an am-is" |

Quote: Absolutely correct-omundo, dydrmblvr! And you know what, I was thinking of doing your next one, too! Micky in "Alias Micky Dolenz" Can't do a new one, cause I've gotta take my son for a haircut now. Bye! |

Well, okay, I'll ask the next one: who said, "Peter, don't you get overheated playing ping-pong all by yourself."

Quote:This one was driving me crazy, because I knew it was in an episode I'd recently watched, but I just couldn't quite place it! Then it suddenly came to me in the middle of the night last night! Anyway... It's Mike in "Monkee See, Monkee Die" when he's trying to attract a St. Bernard to help them! That quote also reminded me of this one, so I'll make this the latest game entry: "Cheer up, big Peter!" P.S. Sorry about running off without posting a new quote last time. Do any of you know what it's like when your 12-year-old turns the tables on you and tells you, "It's time to go, and you need to get off the computer now" [i.e., not 5 minutes from now!] and pronounces you a hypocrite (and is of course 100% right!) because you are doing the exact thing that you always get on his case about?! --Definitely a |

I'm lost, I was going to say Devil & Peter Tork, but I couldn't recall the conversations. Then I thought about Dance, Monkee, Dance - again, drawing a blank on the conversations.

First, to respond to Infynyte Ryder's clue (Thanks for playing!) I just rewatched that part of the show to be sure I was right, so here's the exact quote:
"First we'll escape. Then we'll play baseball." Mike in "Monkees In A Ghost Town." Now back to "Cheer up, Big Peter!" Quote:Nope, it's not either of those two, dydrmblvr, but here are two more clues: In the same episode, the same actor says both: "When I was a leetle boy my mother used to wrap my lunch in a road map!" and "But it sure keeps your foot tappin', don't it?" |
