I don't have an answer.
I have a Quote "I like Hot Dogs!" ![]() "You take each new opportunity as it arises. A large area of thought goes to self-determination and self-will." ~ Michael Nesmith |

Okay, since this one seems to be stumping you guys so far, here are another couple of hints:
The full quote was actually: "Cheer up, Big Peter! It didn't work for Cyrano either," even though the same character had said 2 scenes earlier in the show: "It worked great for Cyrano De Bergerac!" I hope that helps! [Edit -July 5th: After watching the episode yet again, I realized that he actually says "it worked great in Cyrano de Bergerac" --meaning the book, I guess, which makes more sense, because I guess it worked for the guy he was trying to help (I can't remember his name) but not for poor Cyrano himself!] Quote:Is that Peter in "99-Pound Weakling?" I won't post a new one, because I'm hoping someone will come up with an answer for my old one this time! |

Yep, that was Micky in "One Man Shy" and the hot dog line is from the werewolf in "Monstrous Monkee Mash".
Here's another: "You're not my real mother!" Nora |

Did I stump everybody, or did we stop playing?
Anyway, It was Micky or Davy (oops - brainf@#t Let's try an easier one: "Outoutoutoutout" |

Quote: I don't know about anyone else, but yeah, I've been totally stymied by that one and have been trying to watch as many Monkees episodes as I can since I read that quote (which hasn't been many, as I've been quite busy lately) in the hope that I'd stumble across the answer! Now that I know which episode it's from I'll try to watch it and let you know whether it was Micky or Davy. I had thought it sounded like a Micky line, but I could see it coming from Davy, too. Quote: That's easier?? Yikes! |

O.K., I'm feeling better now, because I'm sure I know this one! *Phew!* I was afraid I was going to have to turn in my crown!
Quote:Mr. Zero in "The Devil and Peter Tork." New Quote: "While there is a great deal of moral purpose on the side of the unions they do tend to want a stranglehold." (That's the first thing that popped into my head. I hope you guys find it easy. If not, I'll try to think of a more obvious one, as I think it's more fun when the game moves along quickly. |

Good Job, Nora!!
Okay, LMBT, you got me this time: New Quote: "While there is a great deal of moral purpose on the side of the unions they do tend to want a stranglehold." I know it's Peter, I can picture him saying it, but then my brain kind of fades out........... |

Quote:You're right, dydrmblvr, it is Peter! For much of this episode (the same one), another Monkee is uncharacteristically quiet but does manage to come out with, "Now crayon I can say!" Who was it and which episode do both quotes come from? |

LMBT! I got it! I got it! It came to me today while I was cleaning up my kitchen (weird, I know).
Quote: "While there is a great deal of moral purpose on the side of the unions they do tend to want a stranglehold." Peter in The Monkees Paw!!! (I guess there are some benefits from getting high on bleach fumes - KIDS, don't try this at home, I am a trained professional & kinda stupid, too! NEW QUOTE: ...I better go warn the cow. |

Yup, the Crayon remark was Micky!!
Quote: Here's a new one: "Work hard, play hard, get plenty of roughage in your diet, and someday you'll own this hotel." Mike to the hotel maid in The Royal Flush! (I got one on the first try!! Maybe the mind isn't completely go.........) NEW: "Yes you can. You brought me here." |

Quote:I just watched this one, so it's easy! The young neighbor woman who comes over to raid the refrigerator in "Success Story." I don't remember her name, though (or even if they ever mentioned it). Here's one that should be easy but slightly tricky. (Hint: there's more than one right answer): "Huntington Hartford Hates Pickled Herring." Way to go, Nora and dydrmblvr! |
