Awesome interview, Lucy! It was so sweet of Peter to take time out of his busy schedule for you. He touched on some of the same things he said at the dinner in NJ. He can be very profound at times, but doesn't want to think of himself that way. The morning after the dinner, he walked by a few of us and said, "are you enlightened now?" in a very kidding and playful way. He's a very happy fellow these days.

I hear ya on that! I was so proud of myself when I was actually able to talk with him at that dinner like he was a real human being instead of a rock star - FINALLY!! He really appreciates people doing that.

I guess I will always see Peter, on some level, as the fair-haired Monkee. To me his hair tends to the blondish side, but I have impossibly dark hair myself, so that may be why I catagorize lighter hair as..well, light hair! Besides, when I talk to people who aren't as familiar with The Monkees as we all are ( can you imagine?!) and they ask, " Which one was Peter?", I say, " The blonde one." and they say invariably reply, " Oh...yeah! That one! He's cute!"

I am too, Cindi! Tee hee, it doesn't happen a lot, but when it does I'm always really surprised. Seems that everyone in the universe knows who Davy Jones is - even if people were never fans or couldn't tell a Monkee from a Mustang, they know who David is - but for some non-fans, or people who just don't know pop culture history, I see them get confused in separating out the rest of the guys. But there ARE Monkee fans all over the place, it seems, and of all ages. I think that speaks well of the guys individually, and as a group. They've had an awful lot of staying power in the public consciousness, especially for a "project" that had such a short life, initially, in show business terms. My feeling is, once you've been exposed to the magic that is the Monkees, how can you forget that???
