No!!! That show's so funny! Do Trinny and Suzannah present it in the US as well, or is it other people? I hope you and your mother make it mate!!

In the U.S., Stacy London and Clinton Kelly present it El. They are really good, but very brutal at their descriptions of the clothes. I think my mother will
(as Doris Schwartz on Fame the TV series used to say several times) 'plotz' if we get selected. Jill, yes, I will keep everyone posted on if I hear
anything.
Thanks for your love and support everyone. *HUGS* to you my friends |

Yes, I remember that show, Elaine. Jo Brand is well known for having a sharp tongue. The new game hosts for the show, Mica Paris and Lisa
Butcher are much more nicer than Trinny And Suzanna but not so much fun.

Thanks for all of your love and support everyone! Maria and Elaine, for thus folks not hip to all the new lingo, the word 'stuffed' I'm assuming
means 'told off?' Is that correct?

Sorry to confuse you mate - I didn't mean to! It basically means to put a stop to, like forget about it - or as we say "No way! Are you 'avin'
a bubble or summink?!"

And yes what you said made sense too. |

I am old and I do not know all this 'hip' lingo even if it has been around for years. Thanks Nora for your wishes. You made sense, I just wanted
clarification ladies.
Believe it or not, I have heard of bling for jewelry. LOL. Maybe I'm not from the stone ages afterall. Speaking of the times, my neighbor boy and his friend/girlfriend whatever you want to call them are making out on his front porch in broad daylight in view of all the neighbors. LOL! I had to watch out the window for a little bit because I just couldn't believe it. I am so behind the times. LOL! |

Cheri, I think someone needs to throw a bucket of water over them to cool them off.
Seriously though, if someone was to do something like this in my neighbourhood in broad daylight, the police would be called in, and they would be arrested for indecent behaviour. I think It would make me feel very embarrassed

Eek - I know I'm total prude, but I hate public displays of affection like that - hold hands, yes, kiss, yes but not snogging or whatever. Oh and Cheri -
that's one phrase we don't really use in the UK but that we do know- "Making out". Do you use it in the sense of pretending too? As in
"He was making out that he was an aeroplane"

Wow...this thread is infested with slang!
"Plotz" (Yiddish) = "burst one's buttons" as with pride or in taking extreme gratified delight. "Get stuffed" (UK) = vulgar equivalent of "Take off" (Canada) = "Get lost". "'Avin' a bubble" = bubbling over with giggles. "Bling" = big, flashy jewelry. "Sick" = "awesome" = both overused words to express something superlative. "Wicked" is better. "Hip" = something that would never describe me unless possibly in future followed by the word "replacement". (May it not be!) "Snogging" (UK) = "making out" (USA) = anywhere "between first and second base". (Yeah, I'm a big help. Never saw this TLC program you mention, Cheri! There are more and more programs out, aren't there, where common everyday folks set themselves up to be razzed by "pros". We used to call that "The Gong Show". |

I don't mean to be a pedant but... " "'Avin' a bubble" = bubbling over with giggles. " Is not exactly right. It's rhyming
slang - bubble bath = laugh so 'avin' a laugh becomes 'avin' a bubble
I should say though, good try!! If you need to know anything about London slang, just ask - I didn't get the ickle name "elxxxx doolittle" for talking to animals you know elxxx

Molly darlin, what is 'razzed?' Thanks for the definitions too. However, I think the use of the word 'Plotz' in Fame the TV Series by Doris was
meant to be 'fall over' as in 'faint.'
