I've been using PayPal for some time, but I'm still not sure about how it works in some ways. I share it with family and we use it by charging the
credit card. I'm interested in buying something from someone online, and he takes PayPal, but he said he can't accept it through the credit card for
some reason. He told me to send the money from my PP balance, but I don't have anything in there and don't know how. My brother said maybe it's a
scam, but it's a very inexpensive item so I'd be willing to take a chance with it. What do you guys think? I am willing to pay the fees that he might
be charged (it's no more than a couple of dollars).

You should be able to set your Paypal account up to draw money as a credit card or as a "cash" payment from your bank account. Some ebay sellers
prefer not to accept credit card payments even through Paypal. Your banking information is still protected.
Hope that helps!

Thanks Cindi! I think it just sounds more complicated to me than it is because I've never done it before.

I am terrified to death about buying something off PayPal since I know absolutely nothing about it, but I have heard horror stories about that and E-bay.

PayPal is generally safer than using a check or money order. They are usually good about protecting buyers. But I never paid anyone by any other way than
with the card. I guess it has the same protection, but, how to get the money transferred is where I'm stuck.

it's actually pretty easy. When you're in Paypal, you should be able to set up something called "easy cash" (or something like that). Then,
when you're buying something online and Paypal is a pay option (like in Ebay) you should be able to choose whether to pay with the cash option or a credit
card option. I usually use the credit card option because then I get mileage points thru my debit card, but if an Ebay seller won't take the credit card,
or if whatever I'm buying is say less than $5, I change it to the cash option.
I hope that makes sense. Good luck!

Chrissy and I have a Paypal account and we use it for e-bay more than anything. It is such a convenience to have Paypal because if want to buy something, all we
have to do is put the extra money in the account, then charge it through Paypal. It's so much more hassle-free than money orders or checks.

I use it for Ebay only and have never had a problem. We had it where it came out of our bank account but I changed it to just the credit card. I really
don't want to deal with anyone having my banking information.

We didn't want that, either, until we read more about e-bay's security policy and we were impressed by their security against identity theft.

I didn't feel comfortable with the banking information either, so I asked him again about the credit card and told him I'd pay the extra fees. He
accepted it. Yay! Now I am so happy, I do the dance of joy!!
