I've not seen it and really REALLY want to. It's like no where online. and any youtube clips are just that... clips, not the actual thing. EDIT~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I should be getting it in a few days. If it's bad quality or something to where not watchable then I'll start my begging for it again. until then. Unfortunately, I don't have the show either, but I have a little something to add to your post. Because this has never been made available on DVD or VHS by Rhino, the admins and mods have agreed that while this isn't considered a bootleg, we would frown on anyone making a profit from 'selling' copies. Therefore, for things like this- appearances on talk shows, TV specials, etc.- we request that if anyone does have it available, they charge only for the materials and shipping costs, and no profit for the footage itself. I have them both on VHS I taped from the tv at the time. If I had the means to copy them you would be welcome to them, but I'm not set up to do that. And as I have posted in ML before, I don't really trust snail mail. I will check and see if I have two copies of either of them. Sally B.

There are a lot of things that are seen on the coasts and Chicagoland that never get seen in Nebraska. If it had been on here I would have taped it. I taped everything Monkee. And even though I didn't have access to a computer I did have people that would have informed me if it had been on and I didn't realize it. So I guess it wasn't shown here. Sally B.

If you get ABC it was shown there. and ABC is a big station so basically if you get cable it was on. Oh well... thats ok. I'm sure i;ll find it eventually

The main networks preempt a lot of national programs to show local ones. Like if there is a Nebraska game or bad weather. Lately when there were tornados in the area (Eastern Nebraska and Western Iowa) they kept weather on all the time and we missed all the national programs. They do that for local high school basketball games also. Sally B.

This was released by a Norwegian company. Yes, it has a picture cover and a picture on the DVD. Maybe Rhino owns the rights in the US to the Monkee products. Sally B.

There were 2 TV specials with similar titles that were broadcast on TV during the same approximate timeframe. First, there was "Hey Hey, We're The Monkees". This is otherwise known as the Disney Channel documentary. Filled with (at that time) new interviews with all 4 Monkees and a lot of footage from the TV show. This was indeed later released by Rhino, but only on VHS tape, and is now long since out of print. This special was issued as a foreign DVD in a greatly edited format, but has never resurfaced on DVD in the USA. Then there was "Hey Hey, It's The Monkees". This is the ABC special that we're after here. It was only aired one time and never rerun, either on ABC or anywhere else. It has also never been legitimately released on video in any format. This was the hour long special that finds the Monkees, (as in the cast of the TV show), living in the same beach house 30 years later, still doing episodes as if the show had never gone off the air. The running joke through the hour-long special was finding a plot line they hadn't done before. The program was written and produced by Mike Nesmith and featured songs from Justus. Hope that helps! If other companies are releasing products they either have been given the right to release that or it is not authentic. Also. It's The was that ABC special never aired again.
