There is a one page article on Davy and his new bride Jessica in this weeks National Enquirer. It is not very good. A friend of mine showed me the paper. I
don't think Davy would be very happy if he saw this.

I've never had any respect for The National Enquirer, though I was pleasantly surprised at the way they handled that piece on Peter a couple of
months back. From what you've told us, it sounds like they're back to their old, dirt-digging tricks, and I don't think I even want to know what
they had to say. Thanks for the warning, though.

Kind of funny- every time I try to look after their homepage (Peter article, now Davy's) I get the message "Page unavailable/under construction".
Or is it only watchable in the USA..?

We in mod/admin have already been discussing this, and would prefer not to have a link posted here. This is, first and foremost, a fan site, and as such would
ask that any slanderous, (and, for all we know, untrue), publicity be kept off the boards. I'm sure that if you do a google search you'll be able to
look this stuff up without any problems, but we'd like for Monkeeland not to be a part of that. Thanks

I think everyone should get a chance building her/ his own opinion. I think we're mostly all grown up and this is not something like a "George Orwell 1984 scenario"

and follow before starting to post.
Under NO circumstances will I allow posts about the private lives of the Monkees, either harmful or simply inquiring. This board is to discuss their careers. Asking about their children's public careers is fine, but we won't speculate or gossip about their children, wives and/or girlfriends here, either positively or negatively.It has already been ascertained that this article is about Davy's new bride, and that Davy would not like it. That's more than enough. It has already been ascertained that the article can be obtained elsewhere if you want it. I would suggest PM communication or networking outside the boards if this interests you further. Monkeeland is a fan community, and our main objective here is to be a positive place to discuss the Monkees' careers, collectively and independently, in a family friendly and non gossiping environment. If and until Davy makes a public statement regarding his recent relationship, things need not go any further here. I appreciate everybody's adherence to the rules and trust that this thread will not need to be locked or removed, but remind everyone that both can be done easily. Shane

Well, you'll get to read it from Davy's lips soon. Apparently he's sold some wedding and honeymoon pictures to American Media and they are doing a
story in the next few weeks, they say. I don't know which publication they'll put it in or who will write it but good for Davy for taking control of
his own story.

Once upon a time Davy made a comment on something that was in the news. I think it was about the "New Monkees". I can't remember if it was in
print or he said it at a convention but it has always stuck with me and when I see these stupid rumors going around I always hear him say
it.................."Don't let the truth spoil the news!"
What sells papers? The man who gives his last dime to help out a dying family member? NOPE!! Some celebrity who is doing something they shouldn't and they have nothing to back up their story with. It's quite honestly our fault that these papers exist because we buy them (and I don't mean you specifically ). If no one bought them they wouldn't have a business. I will admit to having bought them but it's mostly because they have a great photo in there.
Now with the internet, I can usually find another source for the photo.
Thanks for allowing me to rant. I hope David and Jessica (Is that right?) have a long and happy marriage. I hope she gives him that boy he's always wanted. Rio was supposed to be his name wasn't it? Julie |
