Carl Ballentine, who played producer Hubbel Benson in the Monkees episode 'Find The Monkees', passed away today at the age of 87. He was famous for
his comic magic act and is also best remembered as being one of the sailors in 'McHale's Navy'. A very funny man who brought joy to many. He'll
be missed.

That's sad to hear, but it sounds like he lived a full, long life. I thought he did some pretty good acting in "The Audition".

According to Wikipedia, Carl was in fact 92 years old! (Even the comedic magician-actors fudged about their age a little, hehehe.) Ballantine the Great usually played fast-talking slicksters, and dang, he was indeed great at that! R.I.P. |
